WELL!!! For a drama that I wasn’t sure how much I liked only a WEEK ago, IQ246 turned into a pretty freaking GREAT show after all! At the time I had said I was just up to Episode 7, and ironically it was that VERY episode where the drama seemed to make a break from its earlier chapters, taking a darker shift in tone and trading the usual goofy and wacky situations in for a more melodramatic and gripping plot!

I had mentioned how marginalized I felt Tao Tsuchiya’s character Wato was getting being nothing more than comedy relief, well I certainly had to eat my shoe with that statement! For it was here that she finally came into her own, proving to the usually stoic and unfeeling Sharaku that she was an important part of the team!

And from there, the show just got darker and darker, with MORE intense and violent  situations, as the show built up to its climactic final arc where Homonji finally has his showdown with his arch enemy Maria T!! (PS: I would LOVE to screencap some of the exciting face-offs Sharaku has with his nemesis, however in the interest of those who may not have seen the show, I can’t risk any spoilers!)

Episode 7 was the first of a more "serious" tone for the show, Episode 8 was as great as to seem like the last episode, but then we came to episode 9 which had me up on the edge of my seat, til it all came crashing home with the incredible final episode 10!
MAN, still grinning (and wiping away tears) after watching the conclusion here…So many suspenseful situations as well as rather touching moments...Who would have thought  that this show would end up as a 10/10 rating for me when I barely even knew if I LIKED it much last week!!! Ya just NEVER know!!!
