After seeing Tao Tsuchiya in such strong roles as Soko Wato in IQ246 and Sachi Aguma in Omukae Death, I was a little bit surprised to see that her latest role was such a basic character. This was the kind of character that a newbie idol-type actress would play, not someone who had already starred as such strong characters before….but then I watched the show and completely changed my mind!
Oh my GOSH, is Tao Tsuchiya GREAT in this show! As the hyperactively naive and adorable Setoko Tachibana in the slightly-uncomfortably-incesty drama Ani Ni Aisaresugite Komattemasu (My Problem is My Older Brother Loves me too Much), Setoko spends the entire episode giggling, cooing, and blushing her way through school life, desperate for romance with the kakkoi boys in her class, (never knowing her brother has been threatening the boys to stay away from her) and her triumphs, failures and embarrassments in love are all depicted in the CUTEST of scenes…. I’m serious, you just want to SQUEEZE and HUG her to death!
The (very short) five episode drama ended with Setoko at a crossroads where she has not one but TWO beaus to choose from, and which one will she choose? (And will her troublesome brother, who may or may not have an attraction of his own to her, interfere?) Sadly this question goes unanswered as it’s all gonna be concluded with a movie!
Sigh, now I have to wait for the movie to come out (it’s been announced for the end of this month) then wait for someone to upload it, and THEN wait for someone subtitle it, LOL! Tao, wait for me!
