| "Hadaka No Reon" Photobook and Poster |
There was a time there in the early 2000’s that busty idol Reon Kadena was one of the most popular pin-up models on the internet, along with other contemporaries like Tamao Sato and Natsuko Tohno, she was a girl that even friend of mine who had no interest in Japan pop at all would download!
And so it was quite a buzz when in 2004 Reon got together with photographer extraordinaire Kishin Shinoyama to release her first NUDE photobook!And from then it was all everyone could do to scour the j-pop gravure forums (R.I.P. SCANLOVER, you were the best!) to find what pics they could of this holy grail of Japanese Cheesecake perfection!
Of course, Idol popularity of any kind is mercurial and the girls who are the rage today are ultimately replaced by upcoming talent in a never ending cycle, and so it was that I slowly forgot all about her…
Just recently I was on facebook chatting with some old buddies of mine, and, talking about big-busted idols, I said, “hey, remember that one gal who was so popular that even guys who didn’t know Japanese stuff would download her pics?”. They couldn’t guess. “Wracking my brain, I said, “She even did a nude shashinshuu that was all the buzz…you remember?” But no name came forth readily.
It was only later that evening it remembered. “REON KADENA!” I posted, and everyone kind of went, ‘Huh, yeah, OK, I remember her…” Intrigued, I went online to see if I could find any infor about her book- and not only was I surprised to find it available, but wildly afforadble as well!!! When I saw that vendors were selling it for a mere 24 bucks (US dollars), I knew I just HAD to get it!
The book came in just the other day, and as you can see, it is quite lovely indeed! This was Reon at the peak of her career and she looked as stunning as I remembered! All the photos captured her pretty features (and curvy body), and the book even came with a cute pin-up poster!!
Ahhh, these pics just take me back…naturally, MOST of these pics i’d already had from downloading 'em off forums back in the day, but it is a thrill to see the pages in real life and OH! so crisp, clear and COLORFUL!
Here's just a mere sampling of what the book has, at least some of the more PG rated pictures from the book. anyway! Oh yeah, this photobook has really stood the test of time, and one can easily see why so many of us were so crazy about her back in the day!
