The Tragically Pretty Anne

You may recall me pointing out the ludicrous situation where Kyoko Fukada played a girl who was supposed to be frumpy, plain and introverted and a loser in love, while looking all SMOKIN’ and ULTRA-FINE, and here we have the same set-up for the new Anne drama Jisou Furin.
In her own words, Anne’s character Shoko Hama describes herself as  someone “Hopelessly Unpopular with Men” and “Fashion that’s Popular with Men doesn’t look good on me” and “I Look Older Than I Am"...and yet, look at how she actually LOOKS in the show:
Come ON, that is one attractive girl who would have NO PROBLEM getting a guy, certainly not someone who is so lacking in love that she feels like no one would ever love her….
PS: and if that wasn’t unbelievable enough, they show Shoko at a Marriage Mixer with her co-worker Masako Yamada, and, as played by stunning Michiko Tanaka, is SUCH a BABE, I practically yelled out loud, "That is ONE GIRL who would NEVER have to go to a marriage mixer!”
Suspension of disbelief is a thing….makes me wanna react like Yukie Nakama (here playing Shoko's older sister Youko:
LOL, that was my reaction, all right!
