Just wrapped up “Afro Tanaka” the drama about big-haired boy named Hiroshi Tanaka trying to woo a “beautiful” OL named Maki whom he meets at a goukon. I have those quotations around the word beautiful because, as I’ve mentioned before, I never quite got the allure of actress KAHO despite her always being cast as these pretty girl roles. I think the only role where I actually thought she was cute was waaaaay back in her drama “4-Shimai Tantei Dan”, and it was in that “adorable cute” kind of way.
Not to fear, for while Kaho herself didn’t do it for me, the girl who played Yuki, Maki’s sassy and stylish co-worker was such a babe that she easily made it worth my while to stick around!
The actress was Haruki Shimizu, a girl whom I’d never seen before except in a guest spot on the Riho Yoshioka drama “Caseworker’s Diary” and even then I didn’t remember her:
But WOW, she was so cool and outspoken in her role of Maki’s best buddy Yuki that I found myself waiting for her to appear in each episode!
As the role of support for Maki, most of their scenes centered around Yuki giving Maki advice during their lunch breaks, so i got a wonderful bonus treat of seeing Haruki eating a whole smorgasbord of different delights!
With only a handful of dramas and movies under her belt, Hazuki seems to be just gettin’ started and I expect we’ll be seeing a lot more of her in the future!
