| Yui Okada and Kenichi Endo in "Watashi No Ojisan: WATAOJI" |
After failing several job interviews and getting dumped by her fiance to boot, unlucky Hikari Ichinose is able to get hired at a production company. She is hired for a comedy variety show called GENKAI MAX and is told she will be an assistant to the director!
During her introduction to the company by the Company Producer (Seiichi Tanabe), she happens to see a middle aged man in the stairway eating a banana.
Did...Did you see that old man?
He was sitting right there....
No time for that, duty calls, and Hikari is off! But she will be meeting the man again very soon....
Convincing herself that she just imagined things, Hikari goes out on her first day of assisting, and it is very rough indeed. She is bullied by some of the senior assistants and made to do the most menial and humiliating of jobs, and when a woman fan is denied a chance to get autographs, she takes it out on Hikari, creating a huge scene which is only diffused when the Director of the show, Chiba (Yu Shirota) shows up.

He placates the fan but is already looking upon Hikari with disfavor. And when Hikari trips over an extension cord and drops an expensive camera to the ground, the crew all scold and chide her.
Oops
A devastated Hikari leaves...
Near tears, Hikari runs back to the company where she locks herself in a bathroom stall.
She plans on having a good cry…until she turns around and finds that odd middle aged man in the stall WITH HER!!!
The next day Hikari returns to work with the intention of resigning, where her Guardian “Oji-san” is waiting for her!
He tells her that he’s there to help her through her issues, dealing with her problematic workload as well as the demands from Director Chiba. And so her resignation letter is put on hold for the time being....
But she certainly has her work cut out for her- Torn between meekly obeying the orders and doing what’s right has poor Hikari's conscience pulled between Boss Chiba and Do-Gooder Oji-San…sometimes quite LITERALLY, LOLOL!!
Things are tuff, but with a Fairy Oji San by her side, she just MIGHT make a go of this job! ‘Cause dealing with condescending co-workers and a demanding boss who Hikari might JUST be falling in LOVE with, she will need ALL the help she can get!
First time I’m seeing cute Yui Okada in anything, and it is a fine debut! A fine grasp of the physical side of comedy- her wide-eyed incredulous stares just MAKES the show, she’s great! Gonna enjoy this one!
Gonna enjoy this one!
