“Ultra” Seven: The Members of “Shichinin No Hisho”

Shichinin no Hisho~ Seven Secretaries is the latest "Corrupt Politics" drama and one I've been dying to see! As our drama opens, the Japanese political landscape is a warzone of competing factions, betrayals and backstabbing, with each group trying to control the others.

But what these high and mighty subjects don’t realize is that they are cluelessly and craftily being manipulated behind the scenes by a small team of watchdogs- the humble secretaries who work right under their noses!

Their eyes and ears are peeled for all the corruptive choices their leaders make, and behind closed doors these ladies meet and map out their plans of justice!

Our story begins with a sweet and naive young intern named Nana Terui (Alice Hirose) who is in a seemingly scandalous tryst with Ichihara, a senior president of a huge corporation.

 Hilariously, we come to find out their relationship is completely innocent, with the two playing trumps between the sheets and bonding more like grandfather and granddaughter!)

But tragedy strikes when Ichihara is struck down by a massive heart attack. As Nana looks on helplessly, Ichikawa is set to die right in the hotel. But this is not his wish, and at his last breath, a call is made.

A secret task force of women is dispatched to the hotel room to assess the situation and take care of what needs to be done.

Once on the scene and determining that, yes, the President has passed, they proceed to his final wishes: to die at home with his wife.

 They prepare to transport the body back to the house while one scrubs the place of any trace of his being there. 

Another goes to the lobby to erase the president's name from the guest list.

Finally, poor Nana is made to sign a disclosure promising that she will NEVER tell anyone of what has happened this evening!

Who ARE these women? As we are soon find out, these are the women who stand right behind the men in power, and they are:

Chiyo Mochizuki (Fumino Kimura)

Fujiko Hase (Nanao)

Sa Ran Park (Eun Kyung Shim)

Miwa Kazama (Yuko Oshima) and

Satsuki Wanibuchi (Shigeru Muroi)...

The team is held together by Keitaro Ban (Eguchi Yosuke) , a man with mysterious agenda who not only corrals the team...

but is a wonderful ramen maker as well~! And it's a good thing since this team's base of operations just HAPPENS to be in a Ramen Restaurant!!!

Not quite sure how the Alice Hirose character will fit in with the rest of the team. So far she;s reminding me of the kyoko Fukada Character in Harinezumi- a once-time client-turned member? Time will tell!

Will be interesting to see how these gals use their wits and skills to bring down all the baddies in future episodes!!! So far it's been fun seeing this tema in action- hope to see even more of them out in the field!!!

PS: The food looks so good, NOT recommended to watch just before bed as you'll have to eat something!
