The quirky Courtroom Drama “Ichikei No Karasu” is no stranger to random cameos of characters from other projects such as Mei Nagano, Kenichi Endo and Alice Hirose appearing in court while promoting their movie Jigoku no Hanazono”(which I talked about here), so I shouldn’t have been too shocked when I was watching the new Ichikei no Karasu Special, and saw it again!!!
While visiting the Courthouse for a follow-up questioning to a case, eccentric judge Michio Iruma (Yutaka Takenouchi) just happened to bump into an old colleague in the hallway...
…a colleague whom just HAPPENED to be KEIKO KITAGAWA, better known as Judge Shizuku Hiiragi, from her law drama “THEMIS NO KYOSHITSU”!!

The show purports through their friendly chatter that they have known each other for YEARS, but we all know she’s really here to promote her show, and Iruma kindly does the honors, remarking “You’re now teaching at a law school, right?” to which she gushingly replies "That's RIGHT!"!! LOL
After exchanging pleasantries, the two give the “GANBATTE!” fist pose, and are soon on their separate ways…
What a great gag! I love when they do this kind of thing! I remember they credited Mei Nagano et al inthe ending credits as “from Jigoku no Hanazono” and wondered if they’d do the same for Keiko. Scrolling thru the end credits, i didn’t see anything, but when I went back and re-watched the OPENING credits, there it was, plain as day: “Kitagawa Keiko, from Themis no Kyoshitsu: Legal Seishun Hakusho.”
Huh, lucky I didn’t notice those credits initially! Woulda spoiled a GREAT little surprise for me!
