Shinitai Yoru Ni Kagitte~ On Nights When I Want To End It All

Also began watching the mini-drama Shinitai Yoru Ni Kagitte (On Nights When I Want To End It All), the story of an introverted guy who befriends a vivacious and outgoing girl and their time together.
Hiroshi Ono (Kento Kaku) is a guy whose never had luck with women but manages to strike up a friendship with a girl thru the online message boards.
She sings songs for him and hopes to one day make it as a singer in real life, and Hiroshi is smitten with her. After getting to know each other over time online, she asks if he wants to meet. Ono of course agrees right away-
He doesn’t know what to expect, but is stunned to find, when he gets to the meeting place, an absolutely gorgeous girl waiting for him!
Unlike the reserved Hiroshi, this girl, Asuka (Maika Yamamoto) speaks her mind and seems full of life, and it's safe to say that he's smitten at first sight!
Over yakiniku (which she simply splurges), she tells him not to worry about the bill and that she will pay for the dinner. He chivalrously refuses to let her pay, but she tells him that she's got lots of money!
Hiroshi wonders how a girl living alone without parents can have such funds, and she finally confesses that she has been making money by SELLING her SPIT to perverted guys, either by spitting DIRECTLY on to them:
...or by spitting in a vial so they can DRINK it!! BLECHHHHH!
S-Selling your S-SPIT????" Hiroshi can't comprehend what he's hearing!
"Yup, got a steady stream of clients, too!"
She confides that she makes QUITE a bit of money doing it and, by catering to the pervs, hopes to save up enough to buy a real guitar to help with her music.
"Isn't it DANGEROUS to meet up with those weirdos?" Hiroshi wonders, to which the sassy Asuka says, "No problem- got my TAZER with me!" LOL, this is one helluva GAL!
While appalled at the choice of work she does, Hiroshi is impressed by how far Asuka will go to work towards her dream, and out of the blue, confesses that he loves her and asks if she would MOVE IN WITH HIM! “I want you to focus on your music without having to do the spit thing” he says, and he is beside himself when she agrees!
Life for the two starts out wonderfully, with the very company of each other enough to elevate their days which are filled with warmth and laughter!

Sadly life isn’t as easy as that,  and over time they begin to see the harsher sides of each other. And as their relationship progresses, they find themselves dealing with very real things like depression and mental illness.
As the days go by things get harder for the two and it’s all Hiroshi can do to make Asuka smile once in awhile through her tears....
Will the two have enough in them to make things work out?
I’m two episodes in and right now, not quite sure what to make of this drama. Started off so lively, but, much like their relationship, slowly has become a much more sombre affair.
But I'll see where this is heading....
PS: Maika Yamamoto is quite a striking girl- when she's all done up, she reminds me not jus!t a little of BLACKPINK's Lalisa "LISA" Manoban!
