Widow Of Revenge: “Fukushuu no Miboujin”

WOW, just caught the first episode of “Fukushuu no Miboujin” and HOLY CATS, It was AWESOME!
Mitsu Suzuki (Wakana Matsumoto) is a kind and mild mannered wife whose life gets turned upside down when her husband Yugo (Yuta Hiraoka) supposedly commits suicide at his workplace.
She cannot understand why her Husband would feel so pressured as to take his own life- but when she comes across recorded evidence that he was tormented by the company, she declares his death not suicide but murder, and makes it her mission to make them pay!
Months later,  a much harder and cold Mitsu Suzuki infiltrates the company under cover as a computer programmer, and quickly works her way into the same department where her husband once worked.
She is highly efficient and capable at her job and is instantly liked and respected among her peers for her intelligence and cheerful and friendly demeanor! But what these employees don't know is that this calm and composed woman has only has one thing in mind: getting to know everyone in the department and find clues to her husband's passing.
Working alongside her teammates while keeping an eye on who the bullies and manipulators are as she watches the Section Chief cruelly berating a young employee in front of the whole floor.

And once Mitsu has identified someone as part of the guilty party, her true cold nature is revealed as she extracts her own form of diabolical PUNISHMENT upon them!!!

Starring a stellar cast which includes Renn Kiriyama, Rika Adachi, Yasushi Fuchikami, Yuki Morinaga and Sakurako Konishi, this is a fine little cast, but make no mistake: this drama is ALL about Wakana Matsumoto’s TOUR de FORCE as the ICY COLD and calculating Mitsu!!!

I'm telling ya, with shows like Fukushuu no Miboujin and Kyousu No Musume on right now, it seems the era of the cold and calculating Iron Maiden is on the rise!!!

Can't WAIT to see MORE!
*
I first saw Wakana as the beautiful and refined Miyuki in Toshi no Sakon, but it was her role as the super badass cop Tomi Nekota in Mystery to Iunakure that made me realize how damn KAKKOI she was!! This was a gal you really wanted to see kick some BUTT!
Admittedly, my love for her dropped a bit watching her as the extremely irritating (and wildly over-the-top) Sister-in-Law from Hell Mihoko Miyama in “Yangotonaki Ichizoku”(LOL)
...but MAN ALIVE, I think it's safe to say that the super-cool Wakana we saw in those earlier dramas is BACK in Fukushuu Miboujin!
Probably one of my FAVE shows right now!!!!

Papa Knows Best: Oi, Handsome!

Pretty fun new drama about an older man named Gentaro Ito ( Kotaro Yoshida) dealing with the return of all three of his daughters to the house when each of their love relationships go south...
There is the oldest Yuka (Haruka Kinami), a single gal dating a married man, who has the misfortune of running into an ex she dumped years ago (Kenta Hamano) every day and in the restaurants she frequents,
The second , Rika (Yui Sakuma), a woman married to a uncaring, spoiled jerk (Renn Kiriyama) who criticizes her and ignores her efforts,
and the sweet and sassy youngest daughter Mika (Rena Takeda), a bubbly but too carefree girl dealing with a deadbeat boyfriend (Ren Sudo) with dreams of having his manga get published!
Along with them is Chizuru (Megumi), the ever-suffering wife of this cantankerous (and yet entirely sensible) old man, who knows how to read him and handle him by observing his everyday actions!
An interesting role for Kotaro Yoshida who has made a career out of playing these unlikeable and slimy guys, here as a caring (if overly strict) Dad to his girls, loved by his wife and even respected by his underlings at work. So convincing are his speeches that his words even inadvertently manage to cheer up a woman nearby who has just gone through a bad breakup, when he is talking to his employees. He has no idea who she is or what she's talking about when she comes up and thanks him for giving her courage again, LOL
PS: Who IS that beautiful girl? Looks like Nozomi Sasaki...
Oi Handsome reminds me of the old Masakazu Tamura family dramas "Otousan" and"Oyaji" where the Dad is a loud complainer but really loves his family! In any case, I laughed out loud while watching the first episode of Oi Handsome and have already watched it twice! Sure to be a must-see for me!
PS: I don’t know if they just happened to focus more on Mika in the first episode, but Rena Takeda absolutely stole the show! She was SO doggone cute and SPAZZY, the way she deals with her Papa as well as her good-for-nothing mangaka-wannabe boyfriend is entertaining beyond belief!
There’s this one fun passage where she’s trying to prove to her boyfriend she can get along without him. He says how will you open jars without me?, and she  uses all her strength to show that she can open it herself.
Then says she can’t wear her blue dress because who will button up the back for her? She makes a valiant struggle to button it up herself, and when she does, triumphantly declares herself self sufficient and kicks him out!
Humorously, the next day she proudly wears the dress but we see she hasn't quite gotten the hang of it yet....LOLOL
Mika might be the best role she’s played yet, and I'm delighted to see MORE!!!
