Happy Haruka Fukuhara Hijinks

Been watching the second season of the Tomohisa "Yamapi" Yamashita realtor drama "Shojiki Fudousan" and have been mostly enjoying it (though I never liked the way they gave him back his "curse" of having to tell the truth in order to continue the story), in no small part due to the still uber-cute antics of Haruka Fukuhara as the sweet and spazzy Sakura Tsukishita! As I watch the show, there will always be these little bits that just tickle my funny bone and just HAVE to grab and make clips of, some of which I've shared below!!

There's a potential new client for the agency, but despite Tsukishita making it VERY clear she'd like the assignment, supervisor Okawa would prefer Fujiwara else take it. But when Fujiwara refuses to take it, Tsukishita is there to demurely offer herself again for the job! (She gets it!)

Tsukishita has had a long-standing love/hate relationship with rival company MINERVA's ace Ryoko Hanasawa (Kana Kurashina), and seating next to each other in a restaurant, they try to top each other ordering extra garnishments on their ramen, resulting in a whopping bowl for each, LOL!

...and there's something sweet about ending each episode with Tsukishita and Nagase (Yamapi) constantly bickering amongst themselves even as they walk off into the sunset! Somehow those two ALWAYS get under each others' skin! HAHAHA

Just a few reasons why Haruka Fukuhara is slowly becoming a huge fan favorite among J-drama philes everywhere! Why, it seems only yesterday she was charming the heck out of us in "Unlucky Girl"!!

She still got it, and even MORE!

Shoujiki Fudousan おわり

 Just watched the final episode of Shoujiki Fudousan, and it was a wonderful episode which encapsulated the wholesome feeling and lessons the series shared throughout, with the two heroically honest real estate agents Nagase (Tomohisa Yamashita) and Tsukishita (Haruka Fukuhara) showing that truth and compassion will always win out in the end, even in a cutthroat business like Real Estate! 

It was a wonderful set-up with a clear establishment of the good guys, namely Tosaka Real Estate, with Nagase and Tsukishita as the team's veritable Batman and Robin!

…We also got a clear establishment of the not-so-good guys with rival company Minerva Real Estate, led by the coldhearted Ikaruga (Takahashi Katsunori) and his loyal (but wavering) second in command, the impeccable Hanazawa (Kana Kurashina)...

In each episode we got to see the teams wage their wars against each other all the while learning more about the characters themselves, and even had some fun moments with romance with banker Enomoto (Rika Izumi) setting her sights on Nagase as a possible suitor!

The drama played with Enomoto and Nagase having an on and off sort-of relationship, which was fine, but I personally was hoping Nagase would end up with Tsukishita! Alas twas not to be!

In ANY case, this was an absolutely terrific drama- one which I came away really loving all the characters, and one which they clearly set up for sequels, so crossing fingers on that!

Crush of The Day: Haruka Fukuhara

It’s official!!! With insanely cute roles in TWO current dramas, absolutely adorable actress Haruka Fukuhara has completely WON ME OVER and has RUN OFF with my heart! 

Haruka as the innocent and naive Sakura Tsukishita in Shoujiki Fudousan is hands down the CUTEST character of the season!!!

...and her take as the struggling but sincere Ayumi Mugita in Imadoki No Wakai Monwa is a fast second!!!

MAN, How did this girl turn into such an adorable powerhouse in so short a time???

As some may remember, it was her role in the terrific “Unlucky Girl” that first made me fall in love with Haruka- her turn as the titular and woefully unfortunate girl Sachi was both so wacky, sweet and purehearted that she instantly became a “gal to look out for”!

I thought this was the first drama I’d really seen her in, but looking back, she’d already made her mark on me in earlier shows like “Uchi no Musume wa Kareshi ga Dekinai” as Minami Hamabe’s sassy friend Saori…

 

…and a fun, quirky role in the Tsubasa Honda con drama “Cheat: Sagishi no Minasan, Gochui Kudasai” which ended up being a dud, but did show off Haruka’s disarmingly sweet skills early on!

Looking over her dramawiki stats, it seems I’ve been seeing Haruka in bit parts for awhile in various roles, like in Rental no Kyuseishu...

...a bit part as a hapless victim in Mikaiketsu no Onna Keishichou Monjo Sousakan...

Then "Coffee and Vanilla" which, okay, I didn't like this as much as everyone else did, but MY was Haruka cute in it!

...the recent "You Who Came From the Stars"...

…and WOW, I was stunned to find I'd seen her as far back as 2007, when a 10 year old Haruka appeared in “Tsubasa no Oreta Tenshitachi 2” as a young Rosa Kato!

She;'s been in the biz since she was a kid!! Aww…look at how little she was then!

Well, it is now 2022, Haruka's now a grown woman, and I believe her acting flag is flying FULL right now!!!

I for one am completely on board to see where she goes next!
