Honoka Miki is STILL the Cutest Thing Ever!!

Really been enjoying the Issei Takahashi drama “Bokura wa Kiseki de Dekite Iru”, the story of an eccentric school professor named Kazumi Aikawa (Takahashi) gifted with a huge knowledge of insects and wildlife but not much in the way of regular social interaction-
The gawky teacher at first stuns his bored students with his quirky behavior, but his unusual ways of teaching, with strange props, field trips and “out-of-the-box” writing projects eventually captivates both the attention AND interests of the kids!

Though all Aikawa’s students become spellbound by him, the show focuses on four students in particular, Sakura Ozaki (Kana Kita), Takumi Suda(Ryohei Hirota), Ryutaro Shinzo (Daigo Nishihata), and Kotone Aoyama.
They all look up to Aizawa, and none more than precocious Kotone, played by the pretty Honoka Yahagi (nee Miki) who is so swept up in Aikawa’s refreshing method of teaching, that she promptly develops a schoolgirl crush on him and begins following him like an lovestruck puppy!!
Dressed to impress, Kotone even makes the mistake of coming to a hiking field trip in a pretty ensemble more suited for shopping than climbing mountainsides!
She is eventually given huge long leg pants and thoroughly enjoys herself by spying on Aizawa and falling for him even more!
When Aoyama is first introduced I thought she was going to be the cliched haughty, spoiled and complaining student who fights with Aikawa, but she immediately became such a great, fun character.
I have to say I didn’t at first even recognize Honoka as Aoyama, and I remember thinking, “this girl looks like a younger Ryoko Kobayashi”.

But by the third episode, I thought, “Hey, is this Miki Honoka??? Aoyama seemed too young to be Honoka, but a quick peek at Asianwiki confirmed my ventured guess- it was INDEED the Itazura No Kiss star herself!!!
Looks like Honoka Miki, I mean Honoka Yahagi's doing very well!

A Case of Conservatism

Well, looks like a few channels (including the one that we’ve been getting the subtitles from) weren’t too comfortable with Episode 3 of Ie uru Onna no Gyakushu, and have skipped over airing it, stating:

We regret to inform you that episode 3 of 'Your Home is My Business! 2nd Attack' cannot be aired on GEM due to sensitive content.

This seemingly controversial episode focused on the LGBT Community and the trials and prejudices they face trying to find a home, with Sangenya and Yashiro schooling the employees about LGBT including what the letters stand for and who they identify…
Adachi observes the prejudices firsthand when he is trying to sell a home to two professional women and the landlord balks when he finds they’re gay, terminating their contract and getting Adachi into hot water!
And he even gets a more personal taste when he is with Rusudo and the girls say, ‘Soo…the two of you are gay, right?” Adachi waves his hands off but Rusudo smiles and seems to embrace the label! "Could he possibly be...?" wonders Adachi.
I guess all this talk about LGBT business was too much for some channels, who either aired the 2nd episode twice or aired something else entirely. I personally had no problem with this episode and the only thing I had to complain about was the fact that since they didn’t air it on GEM (the place the uploader gets their subs), I had to struggle through it UNTRANSLATED!!!

Jennie and the Kpop Club

Both Red Velvet and Blackpink are in the States right now and Jennie, Lisa and Irene were spotted by a lucky fan having lunch in LA this weekend!
Not sure if they could get away with eating in public this casually in Korea but since they're only semi-well known in  America it's nice to see them having such a relaxed and casual meal!
!
The girls are looking great and it was so, so sweet to see Irene and Jennie fighting over the check at the end of the lunch! "Let Me Get this..." "Oh No, No NO, Let ME get it!"
LOL!

Maison De Police!

Also started watching the new crime detective drama “Maison De Police” starring the always adorable Mitsuki “Kahoko Nemoto” Takahata as police detective Hiyori Makino.
While investigating the case of a serial killer whose M.O. seems to mimic the actions of an convicted killer some 5 years before, she goes to talk with the man who worked the case, Sochiro Natsume (Hidetoshi Nishijima).
When she gets there, however, she is met with a grouchy man who denies being the former police investigator, and she is promptly sent off.

She is about to leave, when she is met by an elderly gentleman named Date (Masaomi Kondo) who invites the young officer into the home.
When she gets inside she is to find that the Share House is completely occupied by retired Police Investigators, incuding Takahira (Fumiyo Kohinata), Sakota (Takuzo Kadono) and Todo (Goro Noguchi), and that Natsume, who has since retired from the force, is living their as their butler!
Elder Arisugu Date seems to have been a man of some connections, however, and he uses his influence wiht her higher ups at the station to get Makino to share her information with them, and once they know the details, offer up their services to her as the House Police!
With the skills of the retired policemen and the partnership of the gruff but determined Natsume, Hiyori Makino is set to crack the case!
Seems like a fun little show!

Google+ Going Away....

So I've just learned that Google Plus is closing shop and that my Plus account will "go away" in April! Well.....not like much was ever going on at that site of mine anyway....
Funny how so many blogging platforms have shuttered  in the last few years...is blogging becoming obsolete? You would have thought that there would be hundreds of burgeoning places for people to post their interests and hobbies, but no?
I've already had to deal with Vox closing down and importing my entire blog over here once...hope this isn't a sign that blogger might go bye-bye as well some day....
