Chainsaw Man, To Be Continued....

 

Quite a few dramas and animes concluded this past couple of weeks, and while some were better than others, I must say that as far as this season goes, the one show I was MOST attached to and waited with bated breath for each installment was the MAPPA Anime CHAINSAW MAN, a show which had me on the edge of my seat each week and had me SO obsessed I had to jump over and read the entire manga!

Even after reading the ‘whole story" in manga form, I was still blown away each week by the exciting dynamics of the show-seeing the scenes come to life with color, sound and movement! I can see why even the fansw of the manga wanted to make this anime a reality!

The season wrapped up nicely, in just the way I wanted it to, and they even gave a nice little teaser about the second arc , though who knows when a second season will actually happen! No news has been officially announced, but with how great the show and fan reaction is, it’s not IF but WHEN!

PS: Walking around Windward Mall this past weekend,  I saw that Chainsaw Man fandom had even made it to the shopping center, with various sized plush POCHITAs for sale!!! 

Bet not just a few Chainsaw Man fans got one for Christmas!

Chainsaw Man: Holy CRAP, This is AWESOME!!!

 Just a quick note to mention that at episode 8, the MAPPA anime CHAINSAW MAN is completely blowing me AWAY with all its twists and turns, giving me scene after SCENE of stuff I would NEVER have predicted!

SO overwhelming has the series been, that I've officially gone to the next step and have begun READING the original MANGA because I cannot bear to be kept from "what comes next" if I can help it!

Another reason I'm venturing into the actual manga is because, of all series, Chainsaw Man manga readers have had a particular dedication for filling all the forums, youtube comment sections and reddit subreddits with major SPOILERS, delighting in "ruining" it for the anime only fans....just another reason it's best to stay ahead of the game!

Another Anime Show On The Docket: "Chainsaw Man"

 Along with SPYxFAMILY which has happily just returned with its second cour, I’ve also started watching a new show that began this season, the highly anticipated (and very, very bloody!) supernatural thriller “Chainsaw Man”!

Chainsaw Man tells the story of a young lad named Denji living in a world of devils and demons. All his life he’s had hard knocks. His Father died when Denji was just a boy, and left him only a huge debt, a debt that Denji has been trying to pay off for years. As far as skills go, Denji doesn’t have much, and with the huge monthly payments over his head, spends his scraping by...

He does have one companion, however, a cute miniature demon named Pochita,  a creature resembling a cross between a red bulldog and a chainsaw, complete with cord tail, handle butt, and chainsaw blade head! Though stand-offish at first, Denji heals him and they become best friends!

The chainsaw blades of Pochita help out when there is woodwork to be done..as well as for what will ultimately become hisMAIN job- hunting down and KILLING DEMONS!

The carcasses of the demons are traded for cash, which barely manage to cover eating expenses, much less other things in life, but Denji is hopeful that they will someday succeed! Unfortunately, the naive and easygoing Denji is betrayed by the corrupt men he works for, and is attacked by zombie monsters and left for dead. 

It’s only when his blood is consumed by Pochita and their bodies merge is Denji reverted back to life- but as a whole new being-A half human, half demon HYBRID- with sharp, roaring chainsaws jutting out of his arms and head! With this new power bestowed upon him, he slices and dices, making QUICK work of the zombified enemies around him!!! 

After the mayhem, it’s here he meets the people whom will soon become his business partners: the people of the Public Safety Division, whose job is to hunt down demons! Seeing his handiwork, he is offered a job and a place to belong! And so the story begins....

Apparently the original manga that this anime was based on was a rip-roaring success and the series has been long awaited by fans- for myself, I’d only heard about it when the same anime channels that I watch for SPYxFAMILY began buzzing about Chainsaw Man as well that I decided to check it out- So far, a very intriguing show!!!
