| Finally, A Showcase for Yuko Araki!!! |
If you recall, I fell head-over-heels in love with pretty Yuko Araki from the first time I saw her as the aloof Madoka Murata in Ie Uru Onna, gushing at her giggly girlishness and flowery femininity, and couldn’t wait to see more from her!

From there she appeared in dramas like CRISIS and SUITS, but for the first time she is headlining a show of her very own, and she is simply DAZZLING as the devastatingly beautiful yet ADORABLY ADDLED Yurika Nanba in the FUN romcom romp “Motokare Mania”!
Gotta say as soon as I saw her in the promo banner I couldn't WAIT to get my hands on it, and diving in with both feet I'm happy to say, it doesn't disappoint! This is one stellar showcase for Yuko Akari to show all her different sides!!!
The Story:
5 Years ago Yurika broke up with her boyfriend Makoto (Kengo Kora), feeling he only thought of himself and never thought about her. But after dumping him in a Gyoza shop, she’s only had bad to WORSE boyfriends and has since realized that Makoto was a dream come true.

Aside from the usual (if questionable) ex-girlfriend antics of trying to stalk him on facebook and other social medias (none of which she is able to find him in), Yurika has begun immersing herself in her past memories of Makoto, enough that she literally envisions him right next to her!
When she is down, the imaginary Makoto is always there to support her, and when chided by her sensible friend Hiromi (Yoshiko) Yurika says, “Everyone is an Enthusiast about SOMETHING, whether it be anime, toys, shows, etc….I just happen to be a fan of EX-BOYFRIENDS!”
Though Hiromi scoffs at this notion, Yurika is happy to live her life this way….until the day she happens to get a job at a real estate Agency...
The guys she works with are all very cautious about being around her for fear of sexual harassment accusations, but she gets along fine with them.
It's only when the company's hot-shot agent is set to return from a trip...
and the stunned Yurika finds out...
...that it's none other than her ex-boyfriend Makoto!
With such a stunning revalation, Yurika can only do one thing...
....promptly faint away!
Naturally, this creates quite a predicament and Yurika finds that having to deal with a real flesh-and-blood person is a bit different from her trusty fantasies!
How will she EVER work this one out?
Throughout it all Yurika is at her cutest, spazzilly reacting to all the slings and arrows of misfortune, and there’s this hilarious running gag where any time she’s in a fix, she has an emergency meeting with all the facets of HERSELF, and we see her arguing and hashing out her dilemma with her smart, cutesy, sensible, studious, bimbo, tough, and sultry sides!
In another scene, she’s pissed at Makoto and has decided to treat him coolly when he comes in. Just watching Yurika’s expressions as she works up the courage to coldly brush him off with a curt “Good Morning” when he comes in to say hello, and the DELIGHT on her face when she’s pulled it off is both heart-melting and hilarious!
Aw man, Yuko Araki is simply KILLING it here as the luscious Yurika Nanba. Holy Toledo she is pulling out ALL the stops with her cuteness and gushy girlishness!
As I watch this, I wonder if they’re grooming Yuko to be the next Satomi Ishihara as the role of Yurika seems TAILOR MADE for Ishihara’s style. Not that Yuko had ANY problem pulling it off- she CAPTIVATED as Yurika, and it is a JOY to watch her do her thing!!!
PS: I LOVE that fact that she’s working in yet ANOTHER Real-Estate Agency!
Wonder if she got a good referral from Teiko Real Estate…probably not if if Machi Sangenya had anything to say about it, LOL!
