A Hikaru Nishida Score!

Just got a MAJOR cornerstone in my humble Hikaru Nishida collection- an official Autographed Shikishi by Miss 19 Dreams herself!!!
Whenever you saw footage of the working idol during tours and shows, you would inevitably see them frenetically signing piles of these "sign boards" for giveaways and promotions, and OH! How I'd always wanted to get my hands on one of them!
Never thought I'd actually GET one, but lo and behold, luck stepped in and I FINALLY found someone selling an autographed Hikaru Nishida board! Wasted no time taking them up on their offer,a nd for a modest price, was finally able to obtain a "must have" item!!!
Don't have a "Hikaru Nishida" shrine set up at my house, but if I ever DO, you can bet that this autographed piece of memorabilia will be right in the CENTER!

Pink Ranger for Sale!

Got a heads up on a wonderful collectible for Tokusatsu fans of the 70's, a framed and autographed picture of HIMITSU SENTAI GORANGER's "Pink Ranger" authorized by the Queen of Sentai HERSELF, Miss Risa "Peggy Matsuyama" Komaki!!

Man, what I would have given to have acquired this  back in the day! Easily one of my very first "Crush Of the Day" actresses (though I woulda been in 4th grade at the time!), there was a time when my life was ALL ABOUT swooning over the delectable Pink Ranger!
I remember when these 4x6 sized 5 Rangers cards came out and having to trade my friend a bunch of 'em for his "Momo-Ranger" card. I remember scotch taping it to the wall on the side of my bed and gazing lovingly at is before I drifted off to sleep each night!
Funny, 'cause though I was in love with Risa Komaki, the card was of Pink Ranger in her outfit, and I'm not even 100% sure it was a GIRL in that getup!
Nice to see Miss Komaki looking as lovely as ever, and note the nice touch of the pink hearts pattern design on her dress!!
Bidding starts at ¥60,000 ($576) so act now!

My First TWICE Album "The Story Begins" Arrives!

My Autographed TWICE CD "The Story Begins" Arrives!
Even though I've been trying to cut down on my actual K-Pop purchases in the past few months, I knew i just had to get at least ONE real TWICE CD, and what better album than the one that first introduced me to the girls, THE STORY BEGINS, featuring their awesome song Like Ooh-Ahh (among others)!
I went onto ebay and found a very nice and friendly seller who not only had the album up for sale, but it was AUTOGRAPHED by ALL the girls!!! Aw Man, I just HADDA get it!!! From there the seller asked me which trading card variants I wanted, and of course for me it was all MOMO, MOMO, MOMO, so they sent me  a Momo Group card, Momo Single Card, and most adorably, a Momo Baby card! They even threw in an Mnet TWICE Group Shot trading card with the purchase, a SOLID deal all around!
As you can see, I just got my package the other day and it is sooooo sooo beautiful! The hardcover booklet featured the girls in all their dazzling beauty and they had this amazing cookie-cutter-type fold-out lyric booklet which featured the profile shots of each individual member, WOW, how COOl can you get?!
As i'd already downloaded TWICE's songs digitally I already knew and loved all the songs off of this album, but for the record, each and EVERY song on this release is superb, Like Ooh-Ahh, Truth, Candy Boy, and the incredible Do it Again, everything here rocks!
Man, I'm thinking it may be about time I picked up their LATEST CD album"Page Two" as well!

Konisihiki Kapers

My Autographed Konishiki Sumoworld Issue
Working at a Record Store in Hawaii, we’ve had quite a few local artists come in for autograph sessions or in-store performances, ranging from well known artists (Israel Kamakawiwo’ole) to lesser known acts, but none quite as unusual as the time in 2000 when retired Sumo Wrestling sensation Konishiki had a signing to promote his new project: debuting as a singer on his first music CD simply called "Simply Sale" Sale, of course, short for his real name, Saleva'a Atisanoe.
We had set up a display table loaded with his CDs and posters to get signed, but I knew there was only one thing I wanted autographed- a copy of Sumo World I had with Konishiki on the cover, purchased back in the days when I really was invested in Sumo. Only problem was, I wasn’t going to be in town when he had the signing! One of my co-workers Holly told me that she didn’t care much for Konishiki one way or the other, but she had to attend the signing because her Granny loved Konishiki and told her she HAD to get his autograph for her.  I was about to ask her if she wouldn't mind taking my magazine to get signed, too, when my manager said, “Don’t worry, Give me the magazine, and I’ll make sure he autographs it for you!” Okay, I could relax!
Upon my arrival back at work the following week, my manager presented me with the autographed Sumo World issue (you see scanned above) and a little story: He said that everyone was getting the Music CD and posters signed, and when there was a lull in the crowd, he brought out my magazine and told Konishiki, “My artist is a big fan of yours but couldn’t be here and wondered if you could sign this for him.” Konishiki took one look at the magazine, and with a big smile said “WHOA! This is a CLASSIC!” He happily signed it and then went back to signing the music CDs.
Later that day I saw my friend Holly and asked her if she got her granny Konishiki’s autograph. She said “I went up to him and told him I wanted an autographed poster for my Grandmother. He signed one, handed it to me, and then said, Well, What about one for YOU?”  I was cornered and so I mumbled, “Ummm… Okay.” “So yeah,  I ended up with one for myself." LOLOL, Oh MAN, we all started cracking up! She got stuck with an autograph she didn’t care about, and I ended up with one that I’m pretty happy to have!

Autographed K-Pop Goodness in the Mail!

New K-Pop Shipment!
As you may have noticed, I haven’t been purchasing too many new K-Pop releases (still holding out for the upcoming f(x) album) but with dazzling autographed CD promotions from Mwave and Yesasia, I just HAD to get off my duff and pick up some, and I ended up getting FOUR New albums!
Hyosung "Fantasia"
First up is the awesome Hyosung and her album “Fantasia”. You may remember I had a problem with Kpopmart when I ordered her previous album “Top Secret” and I wasn’t planning on picking up her second album until I got her first. But I couldn’t pass up an autographed special from my SECRET bias, and I’m glad I did, Fantasia is great!
Rainbow INNOCENT
Seeing Black Swan Innocent here, some of you are probably saying “What, you only ordered the new Rainbow album NOW?” Yes, I apologize, I’ve been a terrible Rainnous this past year. But pick it up I finally did, and I even got the bonus POSTER along with it! I mentioned before when I got my copies of both Sunshine and Rainbow Blaxx that they had pretty illegible signatures, I’m happy to say that the signs look nice and crisp here!
AOA albums "Like A Cat" and "Heart Attack"
Of all of these CDs, I guess the one I was most excited about was getting the latest AOA Albums “Heart Attack” and “Like A Cat”…these girls have been really big faves of mine, and with the arrival of these two albums, exactly HALF of my AOA collection is autographed!
You may recall that my copies of Moya and Miniskirt were ALSO signed copies, and with a total of 8 albums in the group’s register, that makes a good 50% of ‘em personally endorsed by the girls!
My Complete AOA Collection
AOA is one of those groups that I really enjoy ALL the songs on their albums. Usually when a group releases a new album, I’ll put the promoted single on a mix, but with AOA I always end up putting three or four of the songs, they are so STRONG, and their latest album is no exception! Like Dal Shabet, this is a group where every song sounds like it could be the single track!Really digging them right now!

Secret Shipment

Usually Autographed CD offers come from rookie artists who are using the promotion to try and get their name out, so I was thrilled to see TS Entertainment's biggest girl group SECRET doing a signed CD push in not one but two different vendors! Well I wasted no time getting on THAT special, and just this week, my order came in! The CD box is very nice already, and when you open up the package, there on the inner cover were the four signatures, and in true celebrity fashion, all of them COMPLETELY illegible, rushed scribbling that would give any doctor a run for their money, LOL!
Just like the RAINBOW and 4MINUTE autographed CD's I'd gotten before, it was almost impossible to make out who ANY of the signers were, I'll just have to take their word for it these autographs spell out "Jiyeon", "Hyosung", "Hana" and Sunhwa", AHAHAHA!
Besides the cool autographs, the CD came with a set of beautiful postcards (and a stand you can display them in) along with a trading card and photo. I've already listened to the album online and like it a lot, especially the lead song "I'm In Love", with the girls going back to their FIERCE roots- for awhile now the girls have been pursuing a more "cutesy" concept, THIS promo reminds me of their kick-butt glory days of "Madonna"and "Magic" , sexy songs with sheer ATTITUDE! The Girls and Back!!

Projects of Hello Past

Coconuts Musume
I was sorting through  some of my old J-pop promotional Posters from back in the day, and came across a group that I hadn't thought of in YEARS- Back in the early days of Morning Musume, Tsunku’s fellow SharanQ’er Makoto tried his hand at creating a group, and decided on a Hawaii based group called COCONUTS MUSUME. Though Coconuts Musume never quite made it, several of the members continued on in Hello Project with revamped Coconuts Musume releases as well as HP sub-unit “Shuffle” groups  and became quite well-known in their own right, Ayaka, for example was a joy to watch on Hello Mornings with her “English Lessons” upon the poor Momusu girls, and demure member Mika became the most prolific of all the Coconuts Musume girls when she became a member of the zany HP Sub-unit MINIMONI!
It was in fact Mika Todd that figures into the story I’m about to tell … Way back when I was still working at Tower Records and J-pop was all the rage, they’d created a three-rack section solely for the Japan releases and above it, board frames for two promotion posters. Those posters rotated every few months, and if someone was lucky, they were able to take them home after promotions ended if the J-pop buyer gave his blessing.
So anyway, back in the summer of 1999, the aforementioned Coconuts Musume “Dance and Chance” poster had been posted up, and sometime during the week, who should stroll in to Tower Records but Miss Mika Todd herself! The J-pop buyer saw her and said to me, “Hey! Let’s take down the poster and let Mika autograph it for the store!!” I thought it was a GREAT idea and ran to get a ladder and brought the mounted poster down. With the poster under arms, we caught up to Mika and asked her if she’d mind signing the Coconuts Musume poster for us, and to our delight, she smiled and said “Oh…Okay?” She seemed genuinely surprised someone recognized her, and as we handed her a permanent marker, she paused uncertainly at the poster, unsure of where to start, before laughing and saying “Well, I guess I’ll have to get used to doing this, right?” “Right!” we laughed back!
Mika's autograph!
We thanked her and put the poster back up into the section, until the time came for a new poster to go up, and was I surprised when the J-pop buyer came to my room and asked me if I wanted the autographed poster since I liked Hello Project stuff so much! I took it happily, and I have to say that for awhile there, with the advent of Minimoni and all, it was quite cool that I had a poster she signed for us in person! Ah, but members and groups move on and on, and over time the poster got buried under a whole slew of newer promotional items, what a surprise to uncover this gem after all these years!

Autographed T-ara!!!

Out of all the K-pop groups I love, I've managed to get coveted autographed CD copies from just about all of them, but one that I'd never come across was anything for CCM's turbulent flagship group T-ARA, so I was excited to find that K-Pop Dealer Soompi was offering an autographed special for member Jiyeon's first solo venture "Never Ever".
I jumped on THAT offer, and as I waited impatiently for that special to wrap up so I could get my copy, a fellow T-ara fan on a forum I frequent announced he was selling some of his K-pop collection, and right there in the middle of it all was an autographed copy of T-ara's repackage album "FUNKY-TOWN"! To have a signed album was cool enough, but Funkytown was if fact my very FAVORITE album from T-ara! I just HAD to get it!!!
Well, that transaction went through smoothly, and whaddaya know- the VERY WEEK that I got my Autographed copy of Funkytown was the SAME WEEK that my autographed Jiyeon CD came in! Whooot, it was a real United States of T-ara time over here!!!

Autographed 4Minute!!

My Autographed 4Minute World Special Edition CD arrived from Yesasia today- (Yes, I know I swore off these guys, but with specials like this, how can I resist!) and it looks cool, though I have to admit, the signatures are so scribbly, I can't tell who is who! And I thought Rainbow had illegible handwriting, LOL
Hmm, I'm guessing the signature in the upper left hand corner is Gayoon since I can kind of make out a G and a Y, but for the rest, your guess is as good as mine...That’s the thing when signatures are so stylized, they very rarely look like actual letters!
Sigh, Looks like the only way I’ll be able to crack this is I'll probably have to match the sigs up with pictures of other 4Minute autographed memorabilia online.
Edit: OK, going online, I was lucky enough to find a picture of a trading card signed by all 5 members with their signatures signed right under their respective images, giving me an easy “cheat sheet” to determine who was who…
...now all I now had to do was match up the signatures!
Hahaha, well, looking at the card, it seems my initial guess of the lefthand signature being Gayoon’s was wrong- that signature belongs to Jiyoon! Gayoon actually had a lot more swirly and elaborate sig (the center one)… Nice to finally know who’s behind the signatures now, I especially like Jihyun’s, a feminine autograph from such a beautiful lady!

An Unexpected Arrival- Autographed Rainbow BLAXX

I'd avoided ordering any of my K-Pop goods from the MWave shop because the registration and instructions seemed so confusing to me, but when it was brought o my attention that they were having the girls from Rainbow BLAXX come in to autograph their latest album, I decided to blunder my way through the paperwork so I could get my hands of a copy!
I've already got an autographed album by the entire Rainbow group, (their awesome album SUNSHINE) but their signatures seemed so rushed as to be almost illegible to my eyes (spent quite few hours trying to figure out whose signature was whose! I got Jisook, No Eul and maybe YoonHye, but the rest were only guesses, haha) so I was pretty keen on getting this CD, since it included my Rainbow bias Woori as well as Jaekyung, SeugAh and Hyunyoung. Maybe THIS time I'd get clearer autographs from them!
My Autographed Rainbow "Sunshine" Album
Well, I registered and put in that order, but the whole time I was worried that I'd filled in the MWave order form incorrectly, and as the days stretched into weeks without confirmation from Mwave, my doubts seeme dot be confirmed! I checked my Paypal account, however, and it indicated that my charge DID go through... but NO WORD AT ALL on the order itself.
Weeks stretched into months, and by the 8th week, I gave up ever seeing the order. I figured I MUST have filled the order form out wrong somehow. I chalked it up to a learning experience (vowing NEVER to order from a site I didn't know much about again!) and made peace that it was a lost cause.
Well, just yesterday morning, i got a note from the mailman telling me a package was waiting fro me via registered mail. I assumed it was my latest K-pop order, a big AOA catalog shipment, and I hurried down to the Post, dying to get my hands on those discs!
When I GOT there, the clerk handed me a small envelope containing ONE CD album, and I GOTTA TELL YOU, I had so long ago given up on ever seeing that Rainbow BLAXX album, my first thought before opening it was "What the HELL could THIS be?" Disappointed that my AOA order hadn't come in yet, I tore open the package and had to blink TWICE when what I saw staring back at me was THE AUTOGRAPHED RAINBOW BLAXX CD!!! Well, WHADDAYA KNOW!!!
Autographed Rainbow BLAXX
After hurrying home I took the hardcover Photobook out of its slipcase to gaze lovingly at its embellishments....and I gotta say for the record, I guess Rainbow just have bad penmanship when it come to celebrity signings...'cause these signs were just as scribbly and illegible as they looked on the Rainbow Album I had before! This time I can kind of make out Hyunyoung, but the rest...Hmmm. LOLOL!
Ah well, it's still very pretty, and I can breathe a sigh of relief and call this CASE CLOSED!

Orange Caramel and Apink Arrival!

Autographed Orange Caramel album "Catallena"
Joining the ever-growing list of "K-pop Albums I already had but then an Autographed Special came up so I ended up buying another copy" comes the latest with Orange Caramel's "Catallena". This was even more frustrating at the time because the Autographed Special came out just hours after I'd ordered my "regular" copy, but as you can see, it was WELL worth it, because I now own an album signed by all three Orange Caramel Members, including Lizzy who's been one of my very favorite idols since the beginning!
Along with it came a very nice Orange Caramel drink coaster...  when the special said it would come with a coaster, I imagined a cardboard cutout thing, this coaster is of a higher wuality- almost like  mousepad material... Oh, and the trading card I got was Nana! Two copies of Catallena? NO PROBLEM!
APink "Pink Blossom" with Trading Cards
After weeks of watching my fellow APink fans (generally called “Pink Pandas”) all getting their PINK BLOSSOM orders in, MY package finally came, and though the CD itself is superb, with a hardcover photobook as usual, OH MY GOSH the POSTER that caem with the album is FREAKING BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Such high quality paper, too (seems to be some kind of photopaper?) WOW!
The official trading card I got was of Eunji, but they also included this double sided card with Naeun and Namjoo... So cool- even better is that since I ordered it during their pre-order special, the Poster came UNFOLDED and ABSOLUTELY FREE!! Hope they have MORE of these kind of specials, kekekeke

Autographed AOA By The Numbers

One of the more confusing aspects of K-pop group AOA (Ace Of Angels) is that there are in fact two versions of the group, one as a 5-piece rock band called AOA Black, and the other as a 7 member Idol Group. The rock band consists of JiMin, ChoA, Yuna, Mina, and drummer Youkyung. The idol outfit consists of all the rock band members minus Youkyung (no idol activities for THIS drummer!) plus three additional members, Hyejeong, Chanmi and Seolhyun!
Trying to get an autographed CD from all 8 members of the group in one shot just wasn't going to happen, so I ended up getting autographed copies of both AOA Black's album MOYA AND AOA (idols) new album "Miniskirt". Put them together, and HEY! I've now gotten ALL the members signatures...and then some!!!
The AOA Black Moya album came awhile ago, but the Miniskirt album JUST arrived here the other day...so happy! The AOA idol group promotion happened while they were busy meeting the fans and promoting the new song, so the signatures look a bit rushed, but the MOYA album, signed only by the 5 rock band members, is super nice and clear! And when you consider "Moya" is the song that really made me love the group, that's the one that really counts!!!

Some SPICA Goodies...

Autographed SPICA
Along with my autographed AOA, by some happy coincidence, my autographed copy of SPICA's new album "You Don't Love Me" arrived as well, and just like last time, (where I got a SPICA earcap and button set with their autographed album "Tonight") the new CD came with a bunch of strange goodies, including a slick and cool SPICA mousepad... and a SPICA sleep mask! A SLEEP MASK? LOL, who comes UP with these promotions???
In any case, the album looks terrrific and the signatures nice and clear, and most of all, I'd pre-ordred this album befroe I'd heard a single note of the song, so stoked to hear that the song "You Don't Love Me" is a rockin' retro classic!! Hopefully with promotions like these, the girls will become better known in this new year!!

My Autographed Dal Shabet CD "B.B.B." Arrived Today!

As someone who JUST missed out on last year's Dal Shabet Autographed Album Special for their release "Be Ambitious", I was very happy to have been able to pre-order their new CD "B.B.B.", and just this afternoon my shipment came it!
Holy COW is it beautiful!! First off, the depictions of the cover that they've released online have featured the pics of the girls with a black background, come to find out the reason for that is that the album's cover is actually a silver reflective metallic cover which would have been hard to photograph (and as someone who struggled to take these pics, I can attest to it!) add to that a thick photo booklet inside and you're ALREADY got a pretty package!
But THEN, you've got not only the six exclusive photos of each girl, but the actual AUTOGRAPHS themselves!!! Yes, I've already got an older autographed album of the girls' sophomore release "Pink Rocket", but you can NEVER have enough autogrpahed goodness! Additionally, at the time, WooHee hadn't joined yet and so it is with this new album "B.B.B." that I finally have her John Hancock!
Ahhh, time to take this CD out for a spin!!!

Girls Generation In Their Own Write

You know, with all the various autographed k-pop albums and goods I've been fanatically collecting over the years, you would have thought that one of the very FIRST groups I would have sought out were those nine SM chanteuses of Girls' Generation, but at the time I was first getting into them, the high prices signed copies of their releases went for scared me away and I decided autographed CDs weren't THAT important to have, HOWEVER...
Yoona and Yuri Autographs
As I began to get interested in some of the newer K-pop acts, I noticed that signed copies from THESE artists were a LOT more inexpensive than the SNSD ones were, and when even SOOMPI was selling embellished copies for almost retail price, I began to get more "involved" in obtaining signed items from my favorite groups...
Seohyun and Tiffany Autographs
So one day I'm on this one dealer's site where I'd purchased a couple of signed collectibles before (among them my much-cherished APink SNOW PINK album recounted here) and noticed that they had a few autographed albums from Girls Generation listed, and all at (relatively) affordable prices, so I finally thought, "Well, WHY NOT, it will be nice to have at least ONE item in my huge SNSD collection signed by the girls themselves!"
Hyoyeon and Jessica Autographs
So I went ahead and picked it up a copy of the girls' debut album GIRLS' GENERATION (2007), and just this past week it came in! The CD and album case is a little bit scuffed up, but BOY, the autographs themselves are nice and clear, really SUPER nice signs!
SooYoung and Sunny Autographs
After taking a few minutes (and minutes and minutes) of lovingly gazing at the autographs, one thing I really love about them is how you can see the girls' personalities in their handwriting, from rushed and rigid to playful and flowery, all the girls have such unique styles! I especially love Tiffany's and Sunny's, they're bursting with charm and energy! All so very worth it!!
Kid Leader Taeyeon gets her own two-page spread for her Autograph
PS: You know, one problem with getting autographed albums is that I usually already HAVE a copy of the album, and wind up with TWO copies on my shelf! Someday I'm going to meet a new K-pop fan and he or she is going to benefit so much from inheriting my "doubles", LOL!

A Much Coveted APink Treasure: Autographed Snow Pink!

The APink Girls Autographing Snow Pink CDs
Back when I was watching Season Two of Apink’s totally awesome reality show Apink News, there was this interesting episode where they showed the girls spending time in the Dance Practice room, exhaustingly signing cases and CASES of their new album “Snow Pink” to be distributed to their fanbase...
Bomi removes the Shrink-Wrap
Bomi was the one assigned to remove the troublesome shrinkwrap on each CD, and it was strangely hypnotic watching her use the scissors to deftly slit the tops of the albums while still in the cardboard shipping boxes and then rip each wrapper off. She really had her work cut out for her because the girls had ONE THOUSAND copies to sign!
Hayoung gets to business while Bomi continues to remove Wrapping
At that time besides Bomi, the autographing relay team consisted of Hayoung, Yookyung, Naeun and Namjoo, and they all took turns passing around the stacks of albums to endorse! I guess Eunji and Chorong did theirs at some later date (and in fact, later in the episode, I DID see boxes of the CD left in the back corner of the studio). Love when they did close-ups and you could actually SEE the girls signing it...
Namjoo: "We are really doing it!"
:)
In any case, watching that clip of the girls happily chatting away as they all took turns scribbling their names on the inside booklet, I came away wanting a copy of one of those signed albums so BADLY, and then, when later on, SNOW PINK became my FAVORITE ALBUM from Apink, I wanted it even MORE! In fact, I NEEDED it! But while I was able to get ahold of their more recent promotion for SECRET GARDEN, would I be able to find this older disc of theirs?
Going online I was led to a dealer in Korea who dealt only with Autographed K-pop paraphernalia, and what do you know- they had a copy of the aforementioned HOLY GRAIL of Apink Autographs for me, the same SNOW PINK promotion from the Fanclub! I HAD to have it! A small (but tidy sum) transaction later, and my long-desired Apink CD was on its way! Crossed my fingers and bode my time, and JUST TODAY, my treasured CD arrived!!!
My Autographed Snow Pink CD arrives!
Kyaaaaa!!!
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL Signatures!!!
So beautiful and SWEET, and such a THRILL to re-watch that episode of Apink News and speculate that the CD you see them signing may very well be the one you received! Also an added bonus is the fact that this album is signed by the original Seven Member group- the recent autographed Secret Garden album I acquired was (naturally) signed by the current six-member Apink, but since watching APink News, I’ve come to love Yookyung so much that I feel especially grateful to have her signature in my collection as well!
Yookyung
PS: Another THRILLING discovery I noticed was that while signing the CDs, someone had smudged their fingerprint on the book, and though I can’t say for sure who it was, I DID notice that dear leader Chorong had in fact smudged her signature and gotten ink on the opposite page, so I like to THINK that the culprit was my beloved Ronggie, anyway!! LOL Awww, that’s one of the GREAT things about collectibles like this- you feel really close to the idols when you know that the girls themselves have handled the CDs!
Wheee! Authentic Apink Fingerprint Smudges! Chorong's?
You can best believe this CD has found its way to become part of my most precious K-pop Collectible Items!!!
