SPYxFAMILY and The Weather News Girls

Ever since the anime series SPY x FAMILY began airing, fans have been commenting to Weather New Channel's Newscaster Saya Hiyama (she of the Early Earthquake Warning video) how much she looked like the character of Yor Forger, the svelte assassin by night and doting Mommy by day!

Even fellow newscaster Rinon Ohshima pointed it out to an obviously flattered Saya, noting how much Saya's hairstyle and Yor Forger's matched!! 

WELL, after MUCH begging and prodding from everyone, Saya finally promised to do a cosplay as Yor Forger one day and upload it to her twitter, and when she really DID, ALL the fans were abuzz!  WOWWWW, she really NAILED IT!!!!

Been really loving the Yor Forger character (and even have a figure on pre-order which I’m hoping comes soon) and it was a real THRILL to see Saya's adorable take on her!

PS: SPY x FAMILY has just wrapped it’s First Cour of 12 Episodes and will be making its return in late October…can we wait that long???

A Cute Fan Interaction on The Weather News Channel

 Ever since discovering that clip of newscaster Saya Hiyama switching from a playful tone to dead serious when an earthquake alert came up, I’ve been a big fan of the Weather News Channel and frequently tune in to see what the pretty announcers are up t, and there was this very sweet and wholesome interaction a few days ago that I just CAN’T stop watching over and over again!

At a certain segment of the WNC show every day, the outside camera pans across the city and settle in on a public park while the announcer comments on the day’s weather, the color of the sky, etc… Seems one morning anticipating this, a fan waited at the park while watching the livestream of announcer Yuuki Uchida live on his phone. When it was time for the live city segment and the camera focused on the park, he ran up to wave “hello” to her!

Yuki’s reaction is PRICELESS- She goes from thinking, “Oh!! Is he saying hello to us?” to “No, it must just be a coincidence?" back to “Ohhh! Is he saying hello to us?”

She then decides to test it out by saying, “If you’re waving to us, make a ‘Y’ with your arms!” When the figure doesn’t immediately respond, she says, “Aww, it was just a coincidence?”, but when the figure does INDEED make a “Y” shape, Yuki bursts into laughter with happiness when the fan’s interaction is confirmed!

LOL, Yuki’s giggles are SO contagious that you just HAVE to smile right along with her!I swear,between anchors like Yuki, Saya, and the gushingly sweet Rinon Ohshima, it’s no wonder fans from around the world have suddenly become interested in the Weather going on in Japan!

A week ago someone uploaded an edited clip of a very cute and enthusiastic Weather Girl happily chirping about learning Shogi until she got an earthquake alert in which she immediately shifted from a giggly girl to a serious and stoic reporter. So drastic was her transformation that the clip immediately went viral, sending the video counts up into the millions!

She was so cute and charming that I had to learn more about her, and the uploader was eager to share the info! Her name is Saya Hiyama who, as a regular face on the Japan Weather News Channel, had given way to hundreds of cute clips of hers in various situations!

Like the other hundreds of new fans of hers, I dove down the rabbit hole and spend a good time watching all of her clips, all featuring Saya’s adorable expressions. Some fun clips include this one here where she is talking about her earrings. She is talking about the color…and then the camera zooms in on her ear, making her gasp in surprise!

One of my FAVORITE clips is this one where the texture and collar of the outfit makes it seems like Saya is wearing a t-shirt for her broadcast, and people begin good-naturedly teasing her that she is wearing pajamas! She tried in vain to show and explain that it is in fact a proper, stylish dress, but the comments keep calling it pajamas, LOL!

Since then I’ve tuned into her antics every day!
