Kotaro wa Hitorigurashi: “Kotaro Lives By Himself”

Also watching a very cute drama about a little boy named Kotaro (Eito Kawahara) who suddenly moves into a shabby apartment complex all by himself.
Though young, he conducts himself with a dignified air, as shown in the first scene where he is buying five boxes of kleenex as introductory gifts for his new neighbors!
He even seems to know how to cook and take care of himself, making simple meals of miso and musubis each evening...
Among the tenants he meets in this episode are the lazy and uninspired manga writer Shin Karino (Yu Yokoyama), a gruff guy who, though initially irritated by him,  somehow warms up to the boy and takes it upon himself to look out for him!
Kotaro also immediately bonds with the pretty Mizuki Akitomi (an absolutely gorgeous Maika Yamamoto) whom works nights as a hostess for a cabaclub.
Neither her or Shin have ever talked to each other before, despite living on the same floor, but thanks to Kotaro, they interact for the first time and a friendship is formed.
There are glimpses of the other tenants in the complex which we will soon be meeting in future episodes, as well as a mysterious woman who seems to be a child-welfare case worker (Kanako Momota of Momoiro Clover Z fame) interested in Kotaro.
Gotta say, so far I’m really liking this show. As i watched it, I was so BUMMED when I realized it was one of those short 24 minute dramas. Too bad, I could easily have sat for more!!!!
