Theatre Troupe of Terror: 'Othello"

BOY,  Japan sure does love it’s “Haunted VHS tape” Horror Stories, don't they!

In this one, a bunch of young hopefuls in a theater troupe are struggling to keep up with director Shigemori’s (Jun Hashimoto) expectations as they mount a new production.

Though the team, led by Mai (Rina Ikoma) and including Hitomi (Sae Murase) and, Toru (Airu Kubozuka) are hard workers and practice with all their might, they just can’t seem to hit that magic mark.

Things take a turn when a new actress is recruited into the ranks, a mysterious girl named Erika (Lisa Oda) who hides a shady past… 

Despite her standoffish vibes, Director Shigemori is energize by her presence, and with her addition, the company makes plans for a revival of a past success, a  show called DICE.

The gang know they have to get serious about it, and when assistant Toyama (Kenta Suga) finds an old tape of the company’s past production of DICE, they think it will be a great tool to study and hone their skills!

But of course this is  HAUNTED VHS TAPE, and one they play it, they set in motion a chain of sinister happenings, all which seem to doom the cast, and they learn that the theater group is CURSED!

LOL, I was not expecting a Horror drama and so this one was a nice change. Though this technically  started in the summer, this is perfect for the Autumn season with Halloween right around the corner!
