Just began watching what promises to be an intriguing, complex murder mystery, and at two episodes in, I am beside myself in anticipation for what’s to come! Back in 2006 when Daiki Miyazaki (Kouhei Matsushita) was a track star in high school, he only had eyes for the vibrant, pretty and outgoing Rio Sanada( Yuriko Yoshitaka) an outgoing, encouraging and friendly girl who liked everyone and whom everyone loved. She intends to confess her love to him and he to her, but somehow things keep getting in the way. But Daiki isn’t worried about it because he thinks there’s always the next day to confess his love….
But that day never comes. A mysterious disappearance of a student shakes up the dorm and when it is revealed that Rio was among the last to have seen him, she becomes a person of interest. Even worse, Rio can’t seem to remember any of the events of that night… but something MUST have happened, for she wakes with her arms covered with bruises the next morning....
Rio must also deal with the missing student's with the student's obsessed father, who seems convinced she has something to do with it, badgering her over and over since she was the last to have seen him.
Additionally, Rio’s father has been acting suspiciously since that night, and she feels he may be keeping something from her. There are traces of what looks like blood on the floor, but he assures her it's nothing and that she should focus on her medical exams.
But when he passes away suddenly, Rio discovers he may have been destroying evidence surrounding a crime- a crime that RIO HERSELF may have have had a hand in, though she remembers none of it.
With her father gone and a questionable involvement that she has no memory of, Rio becomes detached. And when Daiki finally confesses his love for her, it is all too late. Circumstances have changed, and with that, Rio makes up her mind to leave the small town, forget her past and focus her attention on her medicinal career.
Fast forward to the present day and we see Rio’s hard work has paid off. Under the care of her Mother and trusted lawyer Kase, she has risen from mere medical student to the CEO of a huge Pharmaceutical business, Sanada Wellness. She is a success story, the youngest person to rise so high so fast, and it looks like there is only up to go…Until a body is found.
It is the father of the student who had gone missing all those years ago, and the authorities are all over it. In a twist of fate, the detective running the show is none other than the now grown up Daiki Miyazaki himself along with partner Kuwata (Yui Sakuma)! The last known sighting of the deceased man is at Sanada Wellness, and the detectives are dispatched to check the camera. Poring over the screens, Daiki is stunned to find that the last person to have had an altercation with the man is RIO HERSELF!
And thus the reunion of the two school friends is met under a shroud of darkness, and instead of happy reconnection, Daiki must meet her as as an agent of the law and she a possible suspect. His love for her has never diminished but the warm and shining girl that he once knew is long gone, and instead he is met with a beautiful, cold and calculating woman, one who may be responsible for a series of brutal murders!
Also featuring Hiroko Yakushimaru as Rio's affluent Mother...
Iura Arata as the stoic (and ultimately suspicious?) family lawyer Kase..

Mitsuhiro Oikawa as Goto, a shady partner in Sanada Wellness who is leaking information to Shiori Tachibana (Minami Tanaka), an investigative journalist, in exchange for discovering Sanada's secrets..
Together they may bring to light things within the company that have heretofore been hushed up and ignored. And with the new scandal connected to the murder, it seems all will be revealed...
Such an eclectic cast and such a gripping mystery! Sure, we all know that there ain't no way Yuriko Yoshitaka's gonna be the one who murdered anyone in the end, but as far as anyone else, the choices are MANY! We'll have to tune in and see what happens....
I've been SUCH a huge fan of Yuriko Yoshitaka lately!!! You know, I liked her from the FIRST time I saw her in Love Shuffle, and Ashita no Kita Yoshio and her last few dramas have been amazing- Seigi No Se,Shiranakute Ii Koto, Kiken Na Venus, and Saiai promises to be yet another great one!
