Kuroki Meisa's Back In The Saddle with "Lupin The III"

Oguri Shun as Lupin the III
Awhile ago I was looking up upcoming movies and read that a new "Lupin The III" movie was going to be coming out, starring Oguri Shun in the titular role. Interesting enough, but what really got my engines going was reading that not only was sexy-as-hell Meisa Kuroki going to be in the movie, she was slated to be none other than the equally sexy-as-hell Mine Fujiko!!!
Mine Fujiko: Lupin Friend or Foe?
As the central sexual figure of every incarnation of Lupin the III, she'd always been my favorite character (the bawdier versions, the better) and I couldn't wait to see if Meisa's turn as Lupin's fellow accomplice/nemesis in the art of thievery was going to do the Fujiko character justice...Well, the first pics of the movie have just come out, and MAN I needn't have worried-all it took was one look at this pic and AW HELL YEAH DOES SHE ROCK THE CHARACTER! Boys, SEXY MEISA is BACK!
Kuroki Meisa as Mine Fujiko
Aw, it looks like it's gonna be one HELLUVA movie!!!!
Kuroki Meisa as Mine Fujiko
Ayano Gou as Goemon Ihsikawa
Tamayama Tetsuji as Daisuke Jigen
Asano Tadanobu as Inspector Zenigata

The AfterSchool Word Of The Day is "Mu-Mo"

During interview promotions for their new Japanese album “Dress To Kill”, when asked what their favorite track off the release was, several members of Afterschool (including my bias, Lizzy) said they particularly liked the song “Lucky Girl” because it was a cheerful song, but added that it was only available on the “mu-mo” version. Mu-Mo??? What the HECK was mu-mo?
Well after chatting with a few folks over at the Kayoforum Afterschool thread, I found out that this "mu-mo" referred to Japan-exclusive releases (mostly available through the Japan fanclubs) but some copies occasionally turned up on ebay and the like. As it was not only Lizzy and Nana’s favorite tune, but also a fun, bright, happy track, (and ya know I just LOVE pop!) I just HAD to have it!
Luck was on my side as only a few days after I got my Deluxe Version of “Dress To Kill”, a dealer in Japan listed a few copies of the Mo-mu version of Dress To Kill! It was a bit pricey and I wasn’t too thrilled about buying a copy of an album I already HAD, but Dress to Kill was soooo, soooo good, having the Mo-mu version with Lucky Girl was going to be a cherry on the top! I ordered it, and in just a few DAYS, it arrived!
Gotta say I was a bit disappointed by it only being a regular jewel-case CD (even though I already knew from looking at pictures of other mo-mu releases that they ALL come in regular jewel cases)…But upon OPENING the case, I saw which member version of the actual CD I got- and it was ONCE AGAIN none other than the Busan Girl herself, LIZZY!!!
Yes, Lizzy was also my random member trading card in the Deluxe Edition album, and when you consider even my Orange Caramel trading card was Lizzy, the Park Sooyoung Gods have truly been smiling down upon me these past few weeks, as ALL my random bonus goodies have been Lizzy!

It's a 4Minute World After All

Just got my copy of Cube Entertainment's flagship girl group 4MINUTE's new CD "4Minute WORLD" in the mail, and once again I'm properly blown away by how beautiful their releases are! Besides having a stunning cover (with the girls looking so damn pretty)The CD Booklet  is something I've never seem before-  the booklet is like a calendar with a metal spiral spine, and the hard cardboard backing (the purple part) is beveled so you can pop it out and turn into a sturdy stand, turning the photobook into a jazzy desktop calendar!!!
Bevelled edges make it easy to lock the parts into place...
...and Viola! Your very own 4Minute Desk Calendar!
Another amazing bonus was the fact that since I ordered my CD during a special, I got the huge 20x30 4Minute World poster absolutely FREE- and it even came FLAT, unrolled and in a tube!!! You just can't beat that!!!!
The girls really went ALL OUT for this promotion!!!

It's Catallena Time!

Orange Caramel "Catallena" CD!
I'd already put in my order for  Orange Caramel's new mini-album "Catallena" from K-pop dealer Kpoptown, but when Soompi offered up the same album AUTOGRAPHED, I had to order that one, too! So I knew I had two copies of the Afterschool sub-unit's new release on the way.
Well, just today (along with my aforementioned 4Minute album) the initial Catallena order arrived, and though this wasn't the autographed one, I still was pretty excited upon getting it! The CD looks very nice and WOW! The free poster that came with it is beautiful!
Catallena poster with CD for scale
Standing at 20x31, this totally made up for any misgivings I had ordering two of the same thing! And the cherry on the top was the fact that the bonus card I got was once again my bias LIZZY!!!  Thought at first I'd have to give the second copy away, but maybe I'll hold on to both of them, Hee Hee Hee....

Back To (After)School with New Japanese Album "Dress To Kill"

AfterSchool "Dress To Kill" Deluxe Edition
Well, it was a long wait, but finally today, my copy of Afterschool’s new Japanese album release “Dress To Kill” arrived! I ws originally going to order the basic version, but when I saw how beautiful the deluxe edition was, I knew I had to get that one! The regular version is in yellow (and housed ina regular jewel case type), but the deluxe one comes in purple, a hue which somehow makes ALL the difference!
The Deluxe version, besides being housed in a DVD sized clamshell as well as a slipcase, comes with a bonus DVD including the videos for songs “Heaven” and both regular and dance versions for their song  “Shhh”.   The DVD disc ALSO included an awesome live mini- concert featuring songs Diva, Flashback, Heaven, Crazy Driver and Slow Love as well as a fun 40 minute fanmeeting with the audience!!
And if THAT wasn’t enough, the bonus card that came with my CD was none other than my bias, Lizzy!!! Given that with so many members it was a 1 in 8 chance I’d get her, I sure felt lucky! Can’t wait to take this CD out for a spin!!!!
Wheeee! I get my bias Lizzy for the trading card!

Hyomin Happiness

T-ara "Lead The Way/La Booon" Japanese Single, Hyomin Edition
Along with my Afterschool order I also received my copy of T-ara’s latest Japanese single “Lead The Way/La Booon”- Like their last Japan promotion for "Bunny Style", this single came in a variety of cover choices, and though the group shot one looked probably the nicest, in the end, I just HAD to go with the special Hyomin version!!!
Hyomin Version Front and Back Covers, Hyomin Picture DVD
CD Single Gatefold featuring more Hyomin goodness
One thing that I GOTTA laugh at though, is the fact that even though I ordered the Hyomin version, which comes with a HYOMIN version cover and back cover, HYOMIN gatefold pictures, and a HYOMIN picture DVD featuring the HYOMIN version dance video...…
...for SOME reason, the bonus card was SOYEON and the bonus photo was BORAM! CD Japan, didn't you catch the hint that I wanted my entire order to be entirely Hyomin-exclusive? LOL
The Entire package, including a Soyeon Photo and Boram Card

Shitsuren Chocolatier Heartbreak

By the way, I don't want to make a huge, huge deal about it, but I have to at least MENTION how disappointed I was with the final episode of the Matsumoto Jun/Ishihara Satomi drama "Shitsuren Chocolatier".... Man, I was REALLY loving this drama (for some reason I really loved and cared about the characters), so I was looking forward to see how everything all wrapped up. Without giving away any spoilers, I'll just say I expected more with that last chapter than what they gave me. Sigh.

Rainbow BLAXX's HyunYoung Makin' The Scene!

Considering Rainbow Blaxx was supposed to be the sexier subunit of DSP group Rainbow BLAXX, I have to say I was a expecting a lot more from the photobook accompanying their Special Edition CD- far from the sex and sluttery hinted at in the Rainbow Blaxx “Cha Cha” MV, the photobook consisted of a more like “artsy” black-and-white photos than generous pulchritude.
Fortunately for the inner dog in me, all of that disappoinment was rectified when the new Korean MAXIM magazine came out featuring Rainbow’s bustiest member Cho HyunYoung in a lusciously dazzling ten page pictorial generously showing off her ample cleavage and sexy curves just like I so desired!!
Whoa, gotta say that this more than makes up for my previous disappointment-They even included a bonus pull out poster, but I didn’t want to wreck the magazine- fortunately there are those out there who’ve already done so and scanned ‘em for our enjoyment!
This makes the third Korean MAXIM issue I’ve bought (along with my copies of Dal Shabet’s Jiyul and SPICA’s Yang Jiwon) and when I get around to picking up that copy featuring Nine muses’ lovely Sera, that’ll make an even four!

Zany Fun A La Carte with Orange Caramel's New "Catallena"

Orange Caramel are back with their unique sense of Silliness!
Pledis Entertainment group AFTERCHOOL has always been one of my favorite K-pop acts, but I’ve only ever been moderately into their sub-unit Orange Caramel despite the fact that my favorite member Lizzy is in it-But all of that has changed with the arrival of their latest song “Catellena”…In the recent oversaturated explosion of “Sexy Concept” comebacks, it was time for a change, and Orange Caramel’s new song is a bright, happy, childish and eccentric mess of ZANINESS that’s like a breath of fresh air!
Pretty Mermaids on the Shore
The song begins with a slick, retro 1970’s disco vibe complete dramatic violins, scratching guitars, and laser gun sound effects and as the girls begin singing happily over it with their signature “Orange Caramel Chipmunk Voices” it turns into SUCH a toe-tappingly catchy song- and then they come in with the deal-sealer, a rousing refrain of “OYE HOI HOI!!!!” accenting the end of each vocal passage! Pure eccentric GENIUS!
Catallena tells the tale of a girl having a “girl crush” on one of those popular, outgoing “mean girls”- where they don’t like them, but the girls is so outgoing and dazzling that can’t help being in awe of them and wishing secretly that they were friends- so how do they convey this message in the Music Video?  By having the three Orange Caramel Girls Nana, Raina and Lizzy…dressed up as SUSHI at a Sushi restaurant and being jealous of a huge, expensive Octopus dish!

WTF!!! Seems totally wack, but Oh MAN, the visuals are so damn CUTE, Nana as the Salmon, Raina as the Mackerel and Lizzy as the adorable Shrimp. Really, the costumes are so innovative, using colors and patterns, you really get the “feel” of the dish they’re masquerading as, and you gotta laugh when you see Lizzy dipping her feet into the dish of shoyu and eventually happily laying in it OMG, so freaking FUNNY!
As the video progresses, after seeing all the different people/sushi, the girls realize everyone has their own charm, and accept themselves for what they are. Symbolically, the girls enter the sushi restaurant and begin “eating” themselves, with tears trickling down their faces, and at the end, the only plate left is the super expensive Octopus dish that no one wanted!
"Catallena" Sushi takes to the stage!
With the Music Video setting the precedent, I wondered just HOW they would convey this silliness to the stage…and it only took one look to see that they succeeded in THAT venue as well- the stage outfits are all variations of their “sushi” alter-egos, I ESPECIALLY love Lizzy’s Shrimp themes, the orange and white streaks making her look more yummy than she normally does!

Besides all that, though, is how much FUN you can tell the girls are having! With an enthusiastic King –Fu “HAAA!” in the tintros of each live performance, they attack the song with a deliriously chipper outlook- their faces beaming adorable smiles as they prance and skip across the stage! The song performances are SO MUCH FUN that even the usually hard-to-please netizens only have positive things to say about it:

1. [+2,198, -71] Bizarre at first but you get addicted to it

5. [+1,521, -88] It's addictive and they have good visuals so

6. [+424, -17] I always think that Orange Caramel can't come up with anything more bizarre but they manage to prove me wrong every comeback ㅋㅋㅋ

7. [+354, -19] You can't help but like them despite how weird their concepts are ㅋㅋㅋㅋ and it's cool how they match the concepts too ㅋㅋㅋ I really like their new song, very addictive!

8. [+335, -20] Crayon Pop and Orange Caramel really grabbed good concepts for themselves and hit daebak. Rainbow Pixie straight up failed.

9. [+269, -45] They're pretty and the song is easy enough to listen to... I hope Orange Caramel keeps up the success.

10. [+198, -4] Never did I imagine this group to last as long as they have

Catallena is TRULY the feel good song of the Year so far!!!

Girls Generation Are Back with New Mini-Album "Mr.Mr."

My SNSD new Mini Album MrMr arrived today with cards and poster!
I was pretty jazzed when I first saw the preview cover artwork for Girls Generation’s new mini-Album MR.MR.- based on their Music Video featuring the girls as Sexy Nurses in Hot Pink outfits, the cover featured a nurse seductively placing a respirator onto a male patient, Very cool and artsy!
But THEN, SMEntertainment released a SECOND picture teaser, and THIS time it was a full panoramic shot of all Nine girls poised dramatically in an avante-garde operating room, the picture was SO HELLA freaking AWESOME, It instantly became my new favorite, and I groused over their choice of the respirator shot as the cover, wondering WHY they hadn’t used the full group shot instead!
Anyway, ordering time came around, and sure enough the cover was the respirator one (funny that up until I saw the second shot, I thought the cover was the coolest yet!)
But I consoled myself figuring the panoramic shot of the group MUST be in the photo booklet inside, right? At least, I HOPED it would be! So when my copy of Mr.Mr. arrived today, the FIRST thing I did was open the album (a very nice cardboard box clamshell case) and flip though the (very beautiful) photo album booklet…and was stunned to realize the pic wasn’t there!!!
CD, Photo Booklet, and Stickers
Fortunately, besides the awesome CD (and five bonus two-sided cards AND a set of stickers), my order ALSO came with a foldout poster, and I mean to tell you, when I unfolded that baby and saw that wonderful panoramic group shot of the girls, I was in heaven!!!! AW YEAH!
SNSD Mr Mr HUGE 15x24 Bonus Poster and cards
PS: Looks like I wasn’t the only one who thought that group shot was cool- SMEntertainment wallpapered that image to the side of their building, a HUGE multi-storied behemoth of staggering promotional perfection! As one fan wittiloy noted, “That’s One HUGE Yuri”! LOL

The Trials Of Eunji

So the Korean Reality Series "Barefoot Friends" is long over, but I can still get a laugh out of watching some older shows...For a few episodes APink's own Busan Girl Jung Eunji stood in place for AFTERSCHOOL regular Uee, and ended up getting double burned by that week's host guest, Lee Hyejung!
Naturally, Good Ol' Eunji took it all in stride, and a happy time  (i.e. eating) was had by all!

Dal Shabet as Nature Intended

There are these Barostar (choreographer) dance practice videos of Dal Shabet practicing “Be Ambitious”, “DalShabet Girls”, and, curiously enough, “Summer Break”, a dance I don’t think I’ve EVER seen the girls perform in ANY venue.
What REALLY made it interesting for me though, was the fact that the girls have almost NO makeup on, Jiyul in particular looks SO different without her eyeliner as to be almost unrecognizable to me! (adorably enough, it’s only her diminutive size that gives her away. LOL)

Very interesting to see their Fresh faces!

Autographed AOA By The Numbers

One of the more confusing aspects of K-pop group AOA (Ace Of Angels) is that there are in fact two versions of the group, one as a 5-piece rock band called AOA Black, and the other as a 7 member Idol Group. The rock band consists of JiMin, ChoA, Yuna, Mina, and drummer Youkyung. The idol outfit consists of all the rock band members minus Youkyung (no idol activities for THIS drummer!) plus three additional members, Hyejeong, Chanmi and Seolhyun!
Trying to get an autographed CD from all 8 members of the group in one shot just wasn't going to happen, so I ended up getting autographed copies of both AOA Black's album MOYA AND AOA (idols) new album "Miniskirt". Put them together, and HEY! I've now gotten ALL the members signatures...and then some!!!
The AOA Black Moya album came awhile ago, but the Miniskirt album JUST arrived here the other day...so happy! The AOA idol group promotion happened while they were busy meeting the fans and promoting the new song, so the signatures look a bit rushed, but the MOYA album, signed only by the 5 rock band members, is super nice and clear! And when you consider "Moya" is the song that really made me love the group, that's the one that really counts!!!

Some SPICA Goodies...

Autographed SPICA
Along with my autographed AOA, by some happy coincidence, my autographed copy of SPICA's new album "You Don't Love Me" arrived as well, and just like last time, (where I got a SPICA earcap and button set with their autographed album "Tonight") the new CD came with a bunch of strange goodies, including a slick and cool SPICA mousepad... and a SPICA sleep mask! A SLEEP MASK? LOL, who comes UP with these promotions???
In any case, the album looks terrrific and the signatures nice and clear, and most of all, I'd pre-ordred this album befroe I'd heard a single note of the song, so stoked to hear that the song "You Don't Love Me" is a rockin' retro classic!! Hopefully with promotions like these, the girls will become better known in this new year!!

KARA's SeungYeon in New Drama "Her Lovely Heels"

Han SeungYeon as Ji Hoo in Her Lovely Heels
With all the dramatics going on within the KARA camp, with the news of both Nicole and Jiyoung departing and the possibility of two new members joining, it’s nice to hear that the remaining girls are still keeping busy with things and just this week, the new mini-drama Her Lovely Heels just started, starring my own KARA bias, my beloved SeungYeon!
Episodes One and Two ran today and our dear Hamtaro looks as lovely as can be! The story of Her Loevey heels is about a shy, naïve girl who is inexperienced in love, and as main character Ji Hoo, Seungyeon exudes this sweet, natural beauty about her, a true breath of fresh air!!!
The sweet, wide-eyed gazes she makes and the stunned confused reactions when things go topsy-turvy are too adorable, and you know, throughout both episodes, she kept reminding me of someone, and a the halfway point, I realized who it was- actress Mirei Kiritani! Maybe not in looks per se, but definitely in attitude! Too Cute!
Ahhhn, crossing my fingers that someone can translate this show!!!! Granted, it’s a sweet little show that is so basic in premise I can follow along with the story fairly well, but I just KNOW I’m missing out on all the little things that make up a fun script! Not sure how “popular’ this drama is, but I noticed that there were about 826 seeders sharing the show, so I know that the INTEREST is definitely out there!
