Been on a Seiko Matsuda vibe lately (probably thanks to listening to Nishida Hikaru) and have spent the past few weekends playing some of my favorite albums from her. Though most of her more well-known classics are from her early 80’s output, I’m pretty sentimentally attached to the mid-90’s era, and the albums I’ve been blasting have been from that time: Glorious Revolution, Diamond Expression, It’s Style ‘95, and even the Christmas themed “A Time For Love”!
Since I had all of my Seiko Matsuda stuff out to admire lovingly, I decided once again to put my new Canon Digital camera to work capturing my modest (and still growing as we speak!) collection of Seiko CDs and Singles...
As you can see by the timeframe of the sparse CD singles and Laserdiscs I have, it's pretty clear when I first discovered Seiko Matsuda and was most "passionate" about her, specifically during her 1994-1996 promotions, especially her single "Kagayaite Kisetsu E Tabi Datou" and her album "It's Style '95" album, which will ALWAYS be my favorite single and album of hers! It was these that made me want to explore all of Seiko's back catalog, and once I discovered all THOSE wonderful classic singles of hers, I knew I was hooked and became a fan for life!
