Hito Wa Mitame Ga 100%

Asami Mizukawa, Mirei Kiritani and Chiemi Blouson
Jun Jonouchi (Mirei Kiritani), Mitsuko Maeda (Asami Mizukawa) and Seira Sato (Chiemi Blouson) are three girls (women?) working at the Hachijou Paper Manufacturing Company, where their daily job is analyzing the properties of paper goods at the scientific level. Though rather plain and unspectacular in looks, they try their best each day with what they have.
But their world is shaken up when one day the learn that their company is about to be absorbed by a huge beauty products company called Clairella where their job will now consist of fashionable makeup and style!
Merging with Clairella and moving to Marunouchi!
"EHHHH!"
"..."
"No way..."
At the company’s New Years party, the three find that their drab and/or inappropriate attire and makeup makes them stick out like sore thumbs. If this is a sign of things to come, it's looking rather grim!
Girls out of their depth
So dour is Jounochi’s clothing that the attendees at he affair think she’s a waitress and order her to clean up tables and serve drinks!  So afraid of bringing attention to herself, she meekly does the jobs they ask of her. But when Mirei wins a door prize of eyeshadow and mistakenly applies the gloss onto her lips, she faints in front of everybody from mortification!
Backstage later, they are met by the company’s manager  (Kosuke Suzuki) where he tells the girls that it might be in their best interest to take stock in their appearances to fit in better with the company, “It’s all about the looks!” he tells them, and though it is condescending (and chauvinistic to boot!), the three girls have too low self esteem to say anything about it, and meekly agree that they have to upgrade themselves before the fateful merge happens.
Having never before dealt with  looking pretty and dealing with fashionable appearances, they are ready to give up - til Maeda says they have to treat this problem like they do with their paper products- Research and study all the details about everything they can get their hands on and analyze the facts!!!
Jonouchi: "It's no use...I'm not meant to be glamourous!"
Pep Talk from Maeda

Through makeup products, makeup styles and makeup procedures, everything is meticulously tested and run through like NASA rocketship science all with the hope of unlocking the secret beauty “formula” that can transform these “psuedo-women” into the beautiful ladies they see in the magazines!
Studying the Magazines...

Researching Online...
and self-experimenting!
Little by little, they start finding ways to improve their appearances, and as they do, the three girls find that there is strength in finding your self-confidence, and above it all, real value in the friendships they build with each other!
A pretty straightforward show focused on teaching the viewers about trends, the drama will occasionally stop to give you “facts” on the tricks and styles as the three hapless women go about “researching” their beauty data each episode, from clothing to makeup and accessories.
AN entertaining show so far, but it’s really pretty funny to see both Asami Mizukawa and Mirei Kiritani playing “plain jane” girls, when you know darn well that ANY guy in their company would be asking them out at the drop of a hat!
And speaking of Pretty girls, Hamanosilence had told me Rika Adachi would be in this drama and when she finally made her grand entrance, all I could say was HELL YEAH! Holy CRAP, was she dolled up to the NINES!!!!! Such a BABE, why isn’t this gal getting more mainstreamroles???

Side notes: There is one cute scene where Mirei is going on and on about how clothing accesories must be used like Underwear. When she repeats it again, one of the girls looks at her and says “ you sure have a fixation about underwear, don’t you!”, and I had to laugh, because of course they’re giving a nod to Mirei’s past fashion drama Underwear (Atelier) which was actually a show QUITE like this one!

And a HUGE laugh from me when Maeda says (when they are trying on “rabbit” style makeup) “Don’t you know that rabbits can die of loneliness?” and when the other girls say “Really?” she says, "yeah, like they mentioned in that drama song"…and then showed a picture of Noriko Sakai, obviously referring to her song ‘Aoi Usagi” from the classic 1996 drama Hoshi No Kinka! LOL
