Super Salaryman Saenaeshi 終わり

Tsutsumi Shinichi and Koizumi Kyoko as the Saenaes
Just finished watching the final episode of Super Salaryman Saenae-Shi and man, was it great! Who knew that such a wacky and unbelievably SILLY show could be so darn entertaining??
The show started off with a basic set-up: Timid Salaryman who hates responsibility gets saddled with being an unwilling super-hero as well as dealing with his bossy family, but as each episode progressed, the show got wackier and WACKIER til it resembled more like zany Family Guy cartoons where ANYTHING could happen and no one cared much about adhering to a “real” story!
Nonetheless, it was SO MUCH FUN checking in to this light-hearted comedy each week, and by the last episode, I was amazed to find that they’d somehow worked an actual storyline into the series, when the aforementioned Saenai learns that responsibility can be a blessing and a thing to be proud To have!
Super Salaryman Saenae-shi was written and directed by Yuichi Fuuda, the madman who wrote the manic tour de force Yuusha Yoshihiko To Maou No Shiro, and he applies the same wit and whimsy here! He uses the same supporting cast, too, with Jiro Sato and Muro Tsuyoshi filling in the secondary comic characters.
There was even a HILARIOUS snippet where Tsuyoshi Muro’s character of Detective Koike slips into his Yuusha Yoshihiko character Merebu just for a minute, LOL!!
And though Jiro Sato seems to appear in each episode to just waste time with silly antics, just like the final story ac of Yuusha Yoshihiko where Sato (as Buddha) tells a despondent Yoshihiko the meaning of continuing his mission, so does he once again as Superhero Captain Man, who lectures Saenae once and for all to realize what’s important in life. WHODATHUNK such a WHACK character could be so great???!
Saenae even manages to make some peace with his cold and uncaring family and bossy wife, where he finds that when the chips are down, he wouldn’t life life any other way! A FUN way to end a highly entertaining little show!
PS: On a reddit j-drama page,  someone had mentioned that his wife jsut LOVED the Koizumi Kyoko character, saying “She’s my Hero!” When readers pointed out how mean she was, his wife said, “yeah, but she really loves the kids, and they really love her.” Huh! That’s point I didn’t think about, LOL!
