When we last saw Etsuko Kouno, she had finally been promoted to her dream job as editor for the Lassy Fashion magazine, but as we see in this continuation, somehow she just can’t get her proofreading skills out of her blood and for one reason or another, always ends up back in the proofreading section of the building!
All her old castmates are back, including Masaki Suda as her now-official boyfriend Yukito-kun, Tsubasa Honda as her coworker Morio and Goro Kishitani as her frumpy but kindhearted boss Takehara. They’ve even got darling Rika Adachi back as one half of the fashionable front-desk girls (along with Marie Soda), a nice sight for sore eyes!
Along with the old cast are a couple of new characters to make Etsuko’s new life as a fashion editor just a little bit more complicated, including a cold and unfriendly new Editor-in-chief named Rin Nikaido, who wants to move the lagging Lassy Magazine’s sales into the digital online age… (Nikaido is played by Yoshino Kimura, and when I look at this as, well as her last drama Boku No Yabai Tsuma, all I can think is, remember when she was such a cute thing? Now she’s always playing these mean and icy ladies!)
…as well as a saucy (and busty) new adversary with Hinako Sano playing Karen Tachibana, the new agent taking care of Yukito’s new book who takes it upon herself to work her way into his home, make his meals, clean his house and even draw baths for him! How will the jealous Etsuko deal with this?
This was a fun visit back with characters we love, and the way the special ended up, I think we can even expect MORE Jimi Ni Sugoi specials (and maybe even a sequel series?) if we’re lucky!!
