TRACE: Kasouken no Otoko

Wide-Eyed Nonna Sawaguchi  (Yuko Araki) is about to start her first day in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department in the CSI Forensic Lab under the instruction of Ritsuko Kaizaki (Koyuki), where they provide evidence for the Police’s blustery star detective Ryohei Toramura (Eiichiro Funakoshi) and his team.
There is one man in the lab whose knowledge and meticulous attention to detail makes him a genius at CSI work, but his unfriendly behavior and outspoken opinions make him an outsider to the rest.

His name is Reiji Mano (Ryo Nishikido) and his cold and seemingly arrogant demeanor has already made him an enemy of Detective Toramura- they butt heads over every detail of the evidence, and even worse, Mano goes beyond his duties in the lab and goes on to the site and does his OWN investigating!
Well, this is a problem to be sure, but Sawaguchi is stunned to find that her new position in the department will be to ACCOMPANY Mano is his on-field investigating and be his assistant with processing all the data he brings back!
Nonna isn’t thrilled by the news and her new colleagues express their pity to her, but things get worse when she is on site with Mano, when she stumbles upon the dismembered body of the missing victim.
From that day, Sawaguchi cannot get the images out of her head and, as she relates to her co-workers, has lost her appetite as well as sleep over it.
It’s only when Mano gently reminds her that the body she found was once a living, breathing girl who was waiting to be discovered by her.
This gives her strength and resolve to apply herself to the case, and with Mano’s partnership, the two sift through all the clues and rumors to get to the bottom of things. As Mano ultimately says, “The Lab Results ARE the Truth.”
