Favorite J-Pop Singles: TRINITY: DOH-YO

Aw Man, I remember the first time I heard this kick-butt, groovin’ sound, I thought I was hearing the latest single from artists MAX, vocalists Yumi, Nao and Moca sounded SO MUCH like Mina and Reina!!!
Come to find out they were a brand new group under MAX’s same Avex trax label and indeed also produced by Max Matsuura!!! This is a guy who really knew how to produce a SOUND!!!
Naturally I liked the song as soon as I heard it, but it was hearing it every weekend as the ending theme song for the popular DOWNTOWN Music Show HEY!HEY!HEY! Music Champ that made me HAVE to HAVE it!!!

Though they ultimately weren’t around for very long, the handful of songs TRINITY released were great, and songs like “Doh-yo” and “Brand New Love” still have that special something!
PS: J-Pop fans of today have no idea how easy they have it where they can just go online and download new songs from Apple, etc, can watch new PVs on Youtube, etc.
Back in the day, I remember whenever I fell in love with a new song via POPJAM or the like, running to Hakabundo to grab the single so I could have it right away, and of they didn't hve it, hadda order it thru Tower Records!
