| Yamapi and Haruka Fukuhara in "Shoujiki Fudousan" |
Tomohisa Yamashita stars as Saichi Nagase, a ruthless real-estate agent who will use any trick necessary to close a deal, whether by misleading, covering up or even flat out lying. Because of his unscrupulous methods, he is the #1 leading salesman in the company, much to the chagrin of his contemporaries like fellow salesman Kiriyama (Hayato Ichihara) who, though he tries, can only rise to number 2.
On the cusp of signing a huge account, Nagase is saddled with training a wide-eyed newbie to the company, the sweet and naive Sakura Tsukishita (another adorable role for Haruka Fukuhara), who instructs her to just sit by silently while he closes the deal.
With his usual way of smooth-talking and glad-handing, Nagase is able to get the owners to sign over their property for them to handle, all the while lying through his teeth of all the deceptions and undisclosed faults the deal has.Tsukishita knows none of this, and squeaks with admiration for Nagase's professional and trustworthy handling of their precious clients. But she will soon find out exactly what kind of man he truly is….
At a groundbreaking ceremony, Nagase is irked to find that on the property is an old shrine that, despite instructions to be removed, is sitting there intact and creating an eyesore to the piece of land.He attempts to break it down himself, but through his feeble efforts is only able to break off a small part of it. It does the trick, though…for Nagase has just cracked the seal of the shrine legend says was meant to contain a spiritual God of Punishment! With the damage done, the stone explodes open, releasing a commanding gust of wind! The spirit seemingly freed, the wind blows onto the stunned Nagase, leaving him a bit dazed! But there will be a BIGGER surprise when he learns that this wind that has blown down on him will curse him with the ability to only speak the TRUTH!
Nagase doesn't realize it at first. It isn't until he's back at the company, where he greets a girl that he flatters every day. He's ready to compliment her again... but instead, his true feelings of CONTEMPT for her fly out of his mouth, stunning both the GIRL and NAGASE as well!
And it isn't just his feelings about the girl- his true opinions of just about EVERYTHING he’s been hiding inside comes gushing out of him and he isn’t able to stop it!
Dashing to his desk, he tries to contain himself, but the newfound inability to keep his true feelings down come out, and he is soon yelling out his feelings of superiority towards his associates, letting everyone know for the first time the horrible person he really is!
"Why can't I SHUT UP???"
Tsukishita is the hardest hit, not only does she find that her sempai's kindness and character is only a facade, but he confesses that the deeds he's been hawking to their clients are FULL of lies and cover-ups!!!

At first Tsukishita can't believe her ears, but a look at the books shows her he's really telling the truth!
"That's how it is...we do ANYTHING to make the sale."
Though heartbroken, Tsukishita attempts to do her best. And with Nagase's inability to maneuver a sale due to his affliction, Tsukishita tries to pitch it alone. Happily, her passion for the job and her warm customer service shines through, and she is pleased when she manages to land a potential client all on her own!!!
But when the clients sit down to sign the contract the next day, Nagase's loose lips cause Tsukishita to lose her very first sale when he blabs all the faults he has noted that the property has.
But in the cut-throat world where every real estate agent is out for himself and money is more important than people, Nagase's quirk of pointing out all the BAD stuff is REFRESHING to the clients, and after some thought, they come back the next day and THANK HER for letting them know about the faults before they signed the contract!
Also plus points for Rika Izumi as Minami Enomoto, a success-driven gal who sets her sights on prize bachelor Nagase……as well as Kana Kurashina as Ryoko Hanazawa, a realtor for a rival agency who seems to be entertaining the notion of headhunting Nagase into her firm…
Both Tsukishita and a stunned Nagase himself will learn that when you get right down to it, HONESTY might be the BEST policy after ALL!!!
This looks like the beginning of a GREAT partnership...at least until Nagase can somehow BREAK this CURSE he's stuck with!!!
Another quirky drama from Yamapi and another great role for cutie-pie Haruka Fukuhara (who didn’t get a lot to do in Hoshi Kara Kita Anata), looking forward to seeing where this one goes!
The new season is off to a great start!!!
