My Finland Diary~ Hokuo Kojirase Nikki

Lightweight and cute drama about a girl named Shimako Otori, a travel agent obsessed with all things Finland. She makes Finland meals of sausage, She makes late night treats of Finland-style Cinnamon Rolls. And she is crazy about Moomin!

In reality, her life is mundane, eking out day by day at a travel agency. But when she finds out that the company is going bankrupt and her job is going away, she uses the news to think about what she really wants to do with her life.

Of course, moving to Finland is the ultimate dream, but as she has no funds nor job, this will have to wait. In the meantime, she takes on a job at a temp agency where they will help her ‘experience things” while she works on saving up to make that big move to Finland!

Working on that Finland Bucket List

A pretty basic show that is more an excuse to show/teach about Finland culture and foods, but the lead actress Hitomi Honda is really adorable to watch, and at a mere 22 minute each episode, is an easy commit!

PS: Speaking of Moomin, I'm fairly surprised that despite all the shops that closed during COVID's two year reign, the Moomin Shop in Ala Moana Shopping Center is still alive and well! Here you can see they're already ready for Autumn (and Christmas, too!)
