I really adored actress Satomi Kobayashi’s last mini series "Pan to Soup to Neko Biyori", following the daily duties of a small cafe owner, and now we have its spiritual sequel "Pension Metsa" with Satomi as a woman named Tenko running a pension up in the mountains.Like Pan to Soup to Neko before it, there’s no real plot per se, just slice of life moments with food, wine and conversations between the main character and the interesting characters she meets.
Koji Yakusho
Shizuka Ishibashi
So very relaxing to watch, it’s sometimes hard to believe this is Satomi Kobayashi’s niche now, since she first wowed me with her manic, spazzy and outspoken characters, now she seems content to just sit back and let it all go by…
A shame this drama has only 5 episodes...would be great to have more....
