Random July Keiko Ramblings:
Someone on the Jdorama subreddit named CanadianBat was talking about the Jun Matsumoto Taiga Drama Dousuru Ieyasu and didn't think too highly of it, saying:
"I'm on episode 17 currently. The show's version of Nobunaga is unbearable to me and a bit too goofy. It reminds me of the Nobunaga from Toshiie to Matsu, in which the character seemed almost aware that he was in a TV show, lol."
Hmm, that is an interesting observation! I myself have not seen Dousuru Ieyasu, so have no opinion of it whatsoever, good or bad. All I knew about it was that it had a big all-star cast, including Keiko, Alice Hirose, Kasumi Arimura, even recent crushes Nagisa Sekimizu and Nonaka Hara! I was curious what the comment thread was saying about it, and poring over the thread, I DID notice this one redditor Yoshinobu1868's reply; they seemed to like the drama and even mentioned Keiko in a pretty positive light:
"It does get better. The second half of the drama is much better and Matsumoto gets much better once Sena is gone. The Takeda scenes are well done .The best thing about it is Kitagawa Keiko as Oichi/ Chacha."
WHOA! This comment piqued my interest! Keiko is a STANDOUT in this show? VERY interesting! I have no inclination to tackle another Taiga Drama (the last one I watched was, I THINK, Atsuhime!) but with such glowing praise as that, I might actually have to take a peek!
