Wrapped up Okaeri Mone today! As the first Asadora I've seen since it's truncated run (120 instead of the usual 156), it seemed so short. Not sure if it's because of the amount of episodes, or the fact that the drama covered such a short period of time. I mean, in the older asadoras, you'd see the heroine from a child to a grown woman. But this seemed to span only a few years?
I have to say that while I was still entertained, I was disappointed by its shift away from Mone's weather career. I know it was still her job, but it really became a background thing rather than her motivational force...
Also don't know quite what to make of the romance between Mone and Doctor Suganami- I think this has to be the LEAST charismatic pairing ever- not once did I feel any chemistry between them and I always got bored when it devolved to them having their "talks".
PS: No spoilers, but how about that complete FAKE OUT with the Doc returning to town? I, like probably s everyone ELSE watching, thought, "uh-oh..does this mean....????", but then, it was all just a tease, LOL! Guess they had to do SOMETHING to generate interest in the fate of Mone and Suganami's relationship...
The one thing I DID love was the resolution between the sisters. Since the beginning there was always this troubled relationship between Mone and Michan, and seeing them finally talk things through gave the show a warm and satisfying conclusion!
All in all, an OK asadora, sadly not as good as it was in the middle when she was in Tokyo generating her career in weather forecasting, which I felt was some of the best stuff ever!
