Some 500 years in the future, time travel exists and a certain unscrupulous villain is going back and changing specific points in history, resulting in the total collapse of civilization.
The entire fate of the world hinges on one unlikely person-a dizzy girl youtube influencer with the pulse on latest trends and happenings- but not much about the past!
Time traveler Bill Fujita (Jun Kaname embracing his tokusatsu roots) has taken it upon himself to go back and fix the problems. Unfortunately, one can only travel back and forth 500 years, and so he needs some brave individuals to take the baton and go back even further.
He is looking for his direct ancestor to help complete the mission, a young girl named Jun Tanida (Riko Fukumoto)! But when he meets her, he is utterly shocked to find her more scatterbrained and ditzy than he’d imagined!
Indeed, she has absolutely NO interest in going back and fixing linear time, until she is shown a picture of the apocalyptical future…and realizes all STARBUCKS are destroyed!
Only then is she persuaded to take the jump back to the Edo period and fix things. True, the girl doesn’t know much about History, thankfully, her best friend Reito Ehata (Hiroki Iijima) is a history buff and goes along for the ride!
Sill, what the spritely young girl doesn’t know in terms of schooling, she more than makes up for in enthusiasm, and with their combined skills of Tainida's energy and Eharas' history knowledge, the duo are able to make the best of it and get to the problems!
Now, about those problems....Rekishi Meikyuu Kara no Dasshutsu is a very strange viewer-interactive kind of drama, with Scooby-Doo like puzzles to solve via smartphone app:
“Can you solve the puzzle before the team?” the screen says, and supposedly the first people who log on and solve the problem get prizes? So, this is not really a drama Drama, more like an interactive game/story thing.
